The technology uses tiny crystals to achieve both long-term effectiveness and the convenience of injections.
-EDIT- Fixed URL - sorry all
The “vaccines are planting microchips” crowd is not going to like this

Thanks - both for pointing out my error and adding a better source!
Sign me up! I already get the depo shot every three months, and if that would cut that down even more, good! I hate having to get out there, then give them urine despite me going “still no babies and I’m bleeding no you still want urine okay” and then they hit something and I bleed now from new places and it’s just been a pain in the ass very literally.
I’d like to read about this, but I don’t see a URL? Is it just this image?
I think Lemmy will delete an URL if you add an image. It’s a pretty annoying behaviour.
that makes sense, I definitely added the URL to have it autogenerate the title headline and I added the image after. that is annoying!

This is really cool technique. Getting a implant in a arm can shut that arm down for months in my experience. A quick non surgical option that is DIY this great. Hope its cheap too.
Maybe this is the intended link?
It seems like you didn’t attach a link. What does long-lasting in this context mean?
If it’s too long, it might be a problem if you do decide on wanting a child. If you’re certain on never wanting one, you could just get a vasectomy or the equivalent for woman and be done with it.
or the equivalent for woman and be done with it.
You’ll probably find that one to be more difficult than you think, especially in these regressive times.
Sorry, I added the link in an edit. according to the article as well as another referenced in nature, the duration is “months to years” or “>3 months” so it sounds like the formulation can vary but long term enough to be both convenient and non-permanent for longer term planning.
What, no 12 gauge?
I like my birth control shots to also be compatible with my shotgun.
Hey, I might be telling a bit of a dark humor joke, but I’m also not the one that decided to measure everything from medical needles to wire and shotgun shells in ‘gauges’. They do also make 16 gauge shotgun shells, and coathanger wire in 15 gauge.
Ironically, all these things measured in gauges can be used as some sort of birth control. Take it up with the people that wrote the measurement standards…
I can’t gauge whether you’re upset at my joke or not.
