He is a hooman, he wants to use the hooman door like any civilized person. Stop demeaning her by making her use the cat door.

“I’m a cat. I don’t use the side entrance like some commoner, and my silly humans need to be reminded of this fact rather frequently. Do be a good fellow and ring that doorbell for me nice and long, would you? There’s a good lad.”

My cat goes in and out through the doggy door for the last 3 years but still hasn’t gotten over the fact she has to push it with her head. She’s figured out how to bat it with her paw just right then slip in sideways so as not to hit hear precious head. But she would never do this. She rarely even comes to us when beckoned while inside, only she decides when we get to see her. Outside? She won’t come anywhere near me. I hate to think of what she went through before we rescued her, she’s so skittish but so loving when she allows.

Quite some time ago my family had rescued an orange bundle of nerves, who was also abused, as far as we knew. And much the same, he was very loving as long as things were very calm.

I read somewhere that the reason cats are so fickle is that they’ve been much more recently domesticated compared to dogs

my kitty crossed over 10 years ago now, but I served her faithfully for nearly 20 years. her behavior was atrocious and she whined for food like you wouldn’t believe but I still miss her and her five pointy ends a ton lol

Haha, that’s exactly what ours does at 3 to 4 am in the night/morning. But nobody hears his lamentations.

(and yes he has an vip entrance which he does know well)
