did 4chan leak trolls again? shoo. back under your bridge.
that depends on what you think is honest. maybe the ppl think repeating this discussion again is boring and they dislike it. don’t take it personally. you are not your content.
btw mastodon and bluesky don’t have downvotes. i think ppl who are here instead on those, decided this way is better. i for one left mastodon in favor of lemmy.
“only upvotes” don’t help as much, because you get a gap where ppl don’t like it. you can only use ppl who like it to sort, which may be much less than ppl who dislike it.
also, once downvoted from many ppl, fewer ppl see the content and it gets less downvotes.
actually downvotes give less “power to aasholes”, because otherwise ppl can post their evil shit like on xitter and they and the algorithm assume silence=agreement, even though agreeing takes only one tap while disagreeing requires writing a comment. this emboldens the “assholes”. they get little to no feedback ppl don’t like it. on top of it, there are ways/algos to sort by number of comments. so if ppl actually dislike it so much to write a comment, it pushes the bad post up on these rankings, shoving the horrible stuff in even more ppls faces.
don’t forget that downvotes mostly help with sorting. they don’t mean “this is wrong”. they mean the reader didn’t like it and it should be sorted further down or even start collapsed. it can just be a highly unpopular or disgusting truth ppl want to swipe under the rug. it can also be totally irrelevant or link/quote sites ppl don’t like and want to reduce traffic to or be forgotten (reddit, xitter, fb come to mind)
it’s just a quick feedback that can help the community.
3rd quarter of 2025 Germany had 64.1 % renewables and rising and imported only 8.2% more than it exported. Source: https://www.destatis.de/DE/Presse/Pressemitteilungen/2025/12/PD25_436_43312.html

Unfortunately the CDU is currently ruling and they’ll try to slow it down.
It’s not continously true for Germans tho. When the green party makes it into the ruling coalition it always feels they care and a few good things happen for the benefit of most.

7·3 months agothe thing with reddit is that karma has a function. for example new users can’t post in most communities until they somehow get a lot of karma and posts from users with lots of past karma get pushed by their algos.
that’s why immaginary internet points are very serious on reddit and accounts with lots of it can (illegally) be sold for thousands of dollars to advertising companies.
this is the reason, i think it’s important to have votes in lemmy etc only matter per post/comment and only for sorting/displaying.
Some aren’t fingernails. It’s a left hand. And I think the lighting plus the effect/filter applied to make the lights in the background flare circular, also makes the bright areas on the fingers more shiny. Not sure though. Could be they just smoothed the fingerprints away and since they knew there aren’t fingernails, never noticed ppl could see it like that.
nah, it’s from <2012, just not a top quality edit.
does this link work? https://tineye.com/search/91c2cd3813b9cafb0d5c84355cdb1b5b1354e834?tags=&sort=crawl_date&order=asc&page=1 it has even bigger versions; less cropped.

22·3 months agothey can’t eat the minimum recommended amount of fiber, because their toilet pipes are smaller in diameter than other regions. it would clog every time, if it’s not soft enough, instead of just a bit more than other regions.

Not saying Google is good, but it’s more on point when you add “-reddit -facebook -instagram -tiktok” (without quotes) and select “Search tools”->“All results”->Verbatim
Hope that helps.

Today I Learned@lemmy.world•TIL orcas sometimes share their prey with humans.English
25·7 months agoI read this before somewhere and I still can’t shake the feeling the orcas are actually baiting the humans like that. Orcas are very intelligent and use cool tricks when hunting, like generating waves to flush prey from the ice into the water. Baiting humans to come close or become more trustworthy seems like a next step to me.

lol, they can track the IMEI. the phone component still works without the SIM, for example to make emergency calls. that means it is still able to connect to cell towers and you can still triangulate it’s position to some degree.
I’m afraid, you’ll have to cut the phone in half instead. can’t be helped.
