No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Avocado. Is it really so untasty or I am doing something wrong?
9·17 days agoIt’s savory, not sweet. Some salt does wonders, tabasco is nice too :)
I dunno, all you need to see that something is going on is 100m or so of elevation with an overview of a medium sized lake

With british surnames like Garlick, Cockburn, Smellie and Gotobed existing, Images seems quite plausible really.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why is amperage more "obscure" than voltage (or watts)?
2·1 month agoBecause in most relevant scenarios amperage is essentially just a function of voltage and resistance/impedance

Today I Learned@lemmy.world•TIL: Besides offering a free compromised email check, haveibeenpwned.com also offers a free password compromise checking service (It's also fun to see what weird passwords have been used/leaked.)English
3·2 months agoI’d argue it’s generally a very sane reaction to instinctively say no when some service you don’t know about wants your password.
The commentor you replied to obviously didn’t know about the pedigree of haveibeenpwned beforehand

5·2 months agoI’d argue though, if you use a single password for everything, its probably more secure to add it here to at least get an indication when it’s breached. Your surface in that case is already so large that the difference is negligible compared to the gained warning.
That said, don’t reuse passwords!

I have to say though, haveibeenpwned is very well regarded in the industry, and is run by a well known security expert. A leak from there would be quite the blow to his reputation.

That said, while I happily give them my email-addresses, I have never given them my password.
you can but then it’s not “British spelling”
the original doc has the math, the csv only has the pre-calculated numbers
you cant recover lost data by just resaving in another format lol

the face is switched yeah, that’s what I am referring to
