Since the latest update the app crashes upon launch immediately. It appears the “Hide username in account picker” is the culprit. By opening a lemmy link (such as this one) in my browser via the Sync link handler I was able to get into the app settings and disable it so now my app works.
I was quite pleased to not have to clear my data and reconfigure all my settings so if anyone needs assistance pulling this off let me know.
@ljdawson@lemmy.world is it possible to push a small update that just disables that setting for everyone? Can someone please mention it to him on discord?
I thankfully backup my settings on a regular basis so the issue was more of an annoyance to me, but thanks for sharing that workaround!
It had been a month for me but people had reported it still wouldn’t work if it was enabled during the backup. I was going to try and edit the text of my backup but this was easier.
That’s what I ended up doing, I’ve set
hide_usernameset tofalseand restored that.
