“I’d like to meet people and have interesting conversations. Let’s go to the place where it’s too loud to hear each other and so overstimulating we leave in ten minutes for our couch.”

Sometimes, just acting on the social impulse and going is enough. Even if it’s only for a little while.

Yup. Even when it sucks, I just try to be happy that I made an effort.

Are y’all guilt driven? I feel like most of my drive to do stuff is me feeling guilty that I’m not being social or doing something enough

I’m completely driven by guilt. I’ve done therapy and it was the main thing pointed out to me.

All of my social activities involve quiet rooms and less than 10 people. Although I will say that if the crowd gets big enough then the white noise all the talking creates can be calming. Unfortunately the hundreds of people bumping into you kinda ruins the whole thing.
