They could have adapted any of the books. The Rion Forge series would have been perfect.
But instead, we got a boilerplate plot from some reworked non-Halo script that subverted all the subversions Halo is know for doing to scifi tropes.

I’ve seen a number of references to my work in big-company projects before. For example, there’s a dead unicorn with an enchanted kidney named Charlie in World of Warcraft. This is fine! It’s completely within fair-use laws. Using my audio directly is not fair use.
Copyright law, at least in the United States, is heavily weighted towards protecting large corporations. Warner Bros is one of the largest media companies in the world, and it often uses IP law like a weapon against smaller artists. Notable examples include MeatCanyon, whose clear fair use parody video “Wabbit Season” was forcibly removed from YouTube, and Vera Drew, whose parody film “The People’s Joker” received a cease and desist letter from WB, initially derailing its film festival premiere schedule.
So WB wasn’t just making a reference, but also lifting audio from Steele’s work while also shutting down other’s fair use parodies.
They could have just licensed Charlie from Steele. It would actually look good then.
High impact youth sports. Destroys joints, destroys brains, destroys futures, but if you suggest getting rid of them, you’re a cultural betrayer.
Yes. How can those things also be popular?
The Chinese have glass hearts. You can see it whenever Taiwan gets mentioned as an independent nation.

Sorry if I don’t trust the company behind fortnite or a company with tencent investments.
They’ve promised not to sue people sharing Unreal 1 and Unreal Tournament(1999). They can change their mind.
id Software released the source code for Doom under a specific license. This has given birth to a wealth of commercial indie titles, the most technically impressive being Selaco, build on a fork of GZDoom called Pancake Engine.
Bungie released the code and assets for their Marathon trilogy and gave birth to a still very active modding community making full fledged fan campaigns.
If Epic wanted to full commit and release the code and assets to the games, I wouldn’t be complaining.
My friends don’t need encouragement and are grown adults. I don’t tell other people how to live.
Even if they don’t end up coming back, having a bit of passive income from renting out their house will help the with the move.
Edit: when I said they don’t need encouragement, I meant that they’re already fully committed to leaving. Not that I’m disagreeing with their actions.
The only exceptions I can think of are people renting out the other side of their two family house, people living outside their country for a few years, or farmers renting out houses that were already in their property.
None of these started as investments, but rather unique circumstances. I have some queer friends who are moving out of the country for a few years because of Trump, but don’t want to commit to immigration quite yet.
Don’t forget that Epic delisted and shutdown the servers for the entire Unreal franchise that was costing pennies to run.
Jury nullification. If you’re called for jury duty, DO NOT LET THEM KNOW YOU KNOW WHAT THAT IS WHEN INTERVIEWING.
Looks like he’s threatening to buy D&D, but from an outsider to that scene, it seems like you could just use old books, go to a different system or homebrew.
If you want Half Life 3, go play the Entropy Zero mods. It’s fanon, but they actually respect the franchise. Think of it as HL2’s own Opposing Forces. The first one is good, but the second is better in every regard.
What I’m looking forward to the most right now is whatever the next installment of Entropy Zero will be. There’s some spinoff stuff and a proper sequel in the works.
I’m also interested in Project Borealis, but that’s untested for the moment.
