Oops! I thought it was some obscure DE.

Considering your points, it seems to be most probably some configuration issue.
Might even be that some of the automated monitor/display configuration tools (might be some GUI settings thing) wonked out and reconfigured something.

If your system has some shortcut combination for selecting external monitor/connected projector/mirror screen, perhaps you can try that.

Also, since you mentioned xrandr, I would assume X Session. You can also use xrandr to check and set the monitor configuration. Not just whether it is connected, but also location (left/right/up/down) and screen resolution of each display separately. Perhaps trying those could tell you what is happening.

  • Pretty simple actually.
Just make sure you don’t have any resource worth anything in the international market.

    1. Let stuff like petroleum, Lithium, Uranium and other such thingies be sold to the first bidder.
    2. Have your soil be nuclear contaminated, down to the bedrock, so nobody wants your land.
    • Also, import all nuclear waste from other countries
    1. Have a population that looks as ugly as possible, so noone will want to rape your people.
    • Should be easier considering point 2
    • Something like leprosy in the genitals would help too.
    1. Be absolutely full of population, such that the place is a cesspool.

Hey, I said it’d be simple, not that it would be easy or even humanly possible.

    1. Any recent software updates that you might find relevant?
    • It would be good to know which distro you use
    • “Samsung commercial” would make me believe it doesn’t get automatic updates, but just in case, that is also a factor.
    1. Does the TV work with other input sources on the same port?
    2. Reading “Samsung”, I would assume it has multiple input ports. What was the result with other ports.

  • Lower end is more complex and critical

    In that case, I suggest:

    1. Taking into consideration, the US Govt. mandates and learning Rust.
    • This would only work out in the long term though, as in most places, there is not a demand for it yet
    • I feel like it will catch on, considering they do have some points and a lot of power.
    1. If you are going with the short term one, getting familiar with C, C++ and being able to visualise memory.
    • The visualise memory is required anyway. Alright, maybe not strictly required (I worked in a Govt. workplace and a lot of them could not) but it is important to excel.

  • Nice. Now just if you could make it more physics’y. As in, make it go faster when it falls downwards and make it look like it is putting in extra effort, in cases it is going upwards, higher than what momentum would take it.

If you feel like doing this, I’d suggest using parameters for:

    • gravity
    • momentum
    • friction, so just reduce momentum based on traveled distance
    • minimum speed, to make sure it keeps going and that will look like it is using its motors to keep running
