you get someone else to pick it for you, obviously.

yep. got perma banned and then they banned each account I made for a week straight. got tired of it after that.
i was poking around last night trying to figure it out myself - was trying to get a fork of a mainframe emulator working by compiling the code from github but eventually ran into some weird issues and wrote the whole thing off as a fun thought experiment.
maybe I’ll try again next week
mint is surprisingly gaming friendly. have yet to run into an issue with it.
so… it’s a package manager?
no more than exhaust contaminates your food when you’re eating at a roadside stall.
yes?
i find that a warm glass of milk with a touch of whiskey is just are useful as powerpoint - either will make me pass the fuck out
gotta buy a windows license to dual boot lol
huh might have to check it out again, havent played that in years
i’m about halfway converted - I use windows as my main rig, but I have an hp 705 g4 mini using mint also - slowly transitioning to it as I learn more about using linux (tested steam on it a few weeks ago, seems to function). will eventually transition my daily driver to that when win10 reaches eol - in around 2 years or so. with that being said, I will still have at least one sff pc that will run win10 forever as I will need that for a specific use case (low profile dedicated voip platform).
eventually I plan to move entirely to low watt sbc’s like raspberry pi’s, but that’s more of a 5+ year plan.
eh, i prefer the nanoplastics - microplastics make my cells feel funny
up to 10 years or so, actually --> https://www.sciencelearn.org.nz/resources/1543-measuring-biodegradability
not sure about glass - obsidian is basically glass and it lasts a lot longer than that.
what did you do though?
you’ve got 3 months more experience than you had last time. if you can swing a remote work position with zero experience then it shouldnt be that difficult to do the same with some recent experience.
eh, i dunno. the reason Apple didnt die years ago was due to Microsoft funding back in the late 90s, and they had a linux distro for a while too (or was it unix? I forget). diversifying your interests as a company is one way to grow market share, so steam would probably still exist.
valve’s not for sale though, so… eh
eh, then any pc is modular.
how is that modular? it’s all one piece except for the controller. congratulations, you have a console.
been using MX linux the past little while, it uses xfce - it’s not awful, but wayland looks more promising. might have to find a distro that I like that uses it
