The US is very large, and this varies wildly by state. Some states actually care about funding/repairing infrastructure. Others, not so much.

Every layman can’t be expected to be an expert on literally everything so as to make sure they don’t buy or consume a product that will hurt or damage them in some way, or do business with a corporation that will screw them over. This is literally the reason government exists.

I own original hardware and buy 100% of my games but sometimes you just wanna run games that aren’t originally crossplatform on your Steamdeck for convenience, or on a PC with resolution upscaling, or for ease of streaming the gameplay, or tons of other legitimate reasons.

Can’t wait until our courts decide that, due to the prevalence of “remasters” that are just upscaled ROMs running on emulators, that this is no longer considered “fair use.”

As someone who’s (re) vanced stopped working today, one thing about using my browser instead was the inability to switch to a different app or lock my screen without pausing.

Some of us remember the days of RF-adapters and old school A/B switches that definitely were not as straightforward as turning it on and switching the input.

I guess that’s what I think of when I think of those days.

I hate when manufacturers put those settings on by default. I’m already someone who, when they get a new TV, will go through every settings menu it has to tune it to how I like it before I even start watching anything, so I catch those weird settings before they affect me.

I guess I do this with all hardware (and even software, including video games), that is, fiddle with every possible setting until it’s exactly how I want it (or as close as the thing will let me get).

Which is why I don’t own anything Apple.
