A loaf of bread is about half a kilo of flour, that’s not much for a whole month!

From the US Holocaust Memorial Museum:
The Dachau concentration camp trial opened on November 2, 1945 in Dachau, Germany. Forty individuals who had participated in the operation of the Dachau concentration camp were charged with the murder and mistreatment of foreign nationals imprisoned there. Among those charged were Martin Gottfried Weiss, the camp commandant from 1942-1943; Dr. Klaus Karl Schilling, an SS physician who was brought to Dachau to find a method of immunizing people against malaria; and three former prisoners. The trial lasted from November 15 to December 13, 1945, with seventy witnesses called for the prosecution and fifty witnesses called for the defense. All forty defendants were found guilty, with thirty-six being sentenced to death by hanging (including Weiss and Schilling), one sentenced to hard labor for life, and three sentenced to hard labor for ten years. A few of the sentences were reduced after a review board determined the defendants were involved to a lesser degree than originally believed, but most were upheld. Weiss was executed on May 29, 1946 and Schilling on May 28, 1946, both in Landsberg Prison.
I just made a table saw box joint jig, I like the idea of using that to redo the joints on this.
And thanks for the word of caution about chipping on very hard wood, maybe I can test on a small area.
If so else fails, some nice scrap wood for making splines.
I like the idea of using it as a small decorative shelf, thanks.
And there’s a whole community for them! Not sure how to link to it though.
Thanks, guess I got lucky!
Unfortunately I don’t have anywhere to burn them, but maybe I’ll save some for camping trips.
Hah, thanks, I do think hand tools have a beauty to them.
Thanks! We compost and know folks with chickens, good suggestions.
Took me a minute to figure out how it works. So the angle of the jig is determined by the length the chisel extends through it. Neat.
Thanks! I want to try some smaller / varying size fingers next.
Good caution. It doesn’t seem to shift and I tend to flip it pretty slowly, so hopefully it won’t put undue stress on the casting.
U bolts worked out very well!
Table is 1-1/2" (3/4" MDF + 3/4" plywood). The 3/4" holes drilled with a Forstner bit go all the way through. The clamps are DDWT MFT style hold down clamps.
At some point I realized people often ask a question but don’t really care about you answering that specifically. “How are you” -> actually I can just tell a story about a hobby related problem I’m working on, and not try to represent my emotional state.
I’m not sure if this is one of those cases, but I could see “what do you want for birthday dinner” as actually meaning “I want to do something nice for you” and if you’d rather pick the night’s board game it might satisfy the exchange and make everyone just as happy. Though some people might really want to express care via cooking / feel it’s important you engage on that topic.
Yeah, I inherited this one free, but had planned to get a new one when I set out on this project.
I like the idea of u bolts, that seems better than attaching to an extra wood block.
Ah, thanks for the proper name for it. Yeah, handy shape!
Thanks!
