Well I finally move to a full time Linux desktop on my PC this year

I had only just learned the term but I’m probably a black pill, and it’s different.

My wife and I are having trouble, and divorce is on the table.

When she asked about what am I going to do? I said I don’t intend to ever get into another relationship. Apparently that was more hurtful than trying to replace her… Go figure.

I’ve had enough relationships in my time to know they are all pretty much the same, and I think I will be better off just not with anyone else. I’m sure my patterns play into these dynamics, but I try my best to be a good partner and I think I’m just better spending that energy on supporting myself in the time I have left.

I have kids and don’t want to put any pressure on them (IE I’m careful that I don’t want them to be my emotional support), but hopefully that will allow me to feel enough connection as I descend into hermithood.

Sometimes it’s a space, sometimes its a tab, and sometimes it’s two spaces which might also be a tab but sometimes it’s 4 spaces which means 2 spaces are just whack And sometimes we want two and four spaces because people can’t agree.

It’s actually great value, I never watched YouTube for entertainment before I got it, now I get to watch people do way too big deep dives on subjects I would normally find boring, but because they go too far it gets interesting

Where you really lucked out here was that the project is still going after 12 years and you haven’t been through some bullshit outsourcing/insourcing cycle that clears out everyone who knows what they are doing

To elaborate on point 1, it’s about uniqueness and timing of the path the mouse takes to click the checkbox. If it’s too straight or consistent it will red flag you.

Companies like Microsoft should really have a fund for fixing open source projects - it’s breeds good will, reduces the cost of development, and they in turn get software for much less cost than if they did it themselves.

Like - we are using project X and I want to request a bug fix, they go - estimate your effort in shirt sizes or points or some shit for you to do it.

A bean counter looks at their scale that directly converts effort to cost they have under the table, and they give you a budget to offer the dev of the software as part of the fix request

A Costco moved in down the road from us (Australia ) and we signed up - have had a membership in the past at one much further away but thought we should give it another go.

Won’t be renewing, we decided we just aren’t Costco people. It’s so inefficient and backwards and has that Americanness that just doesn’t suit us and I bet a lot of other Aussies.
