The number of misconceptions from this allusion far exceeded my expectations.

I hate shopping online. There are very few things I will order. I will absolutely never buy clothes or furniture online. I will happily pay a little bit more for the opportunity to buy in person. However, I am not a good consumer, rarely buying much of anything. So my support of local stores goes unnoticed as more and more stores close and shipping of return items grows.

I’m waiting to receive two bionic arms. I have always fantasized about how useful having those two arms would be and how it would feel to be able to use them. I’d even be okay with being called an insect.

Nothing has replaced what Reddit was. I use Lemmy for the nostalgic feeling but it does not compare.

I followed news, politics and science, mostly. The community on Reddit used every tool available to create credibility. Then profiteering tore it asunder.

The only other social media app I ever use is Facebook. But it’s purely for connections to friends, family and local hobby groups.

In Florida, I have heard it from way too many people to feel comfortable. Republicans will say how they are ready if Trump loses. They say it’s because there is no way he can lose unless it’s all rigged. They believe this will happen. The worst I heard was a guy saying he will shoot anybody he suspects is not on his team. Others were not quite as ready, but definitely as angry and ignorant with the means. Some of the more intellectual I talk to are quick to point out the flaws of Democrats and how that said is more violent because of all the riots.

Living here is scary. It would be a war of ignorance, frustration, and hate against a false enemy. It will be a passionate group of clueless rebels without an enemy based in reality. Anyone could become a casualty in the chaos. These people are anti-intellectual, basing everything on what they call “common sense.” What that actually mean is whatever reinforces their anger in the moment is the truth no matter how ignorant or hypocritical.

It feels too real that citizens will be taking up arms. The worst part is not knowing who they will attack since the enemy is all in their heads.

i want all to be literally all. but i also want the ability to block some things everywhere. I enjoy many of the nsfw posts, but have blocked way too many anime style nsfw.

I use my public library app for reading too. However I am surprised how limited the selection is. It seems like every book I look for is unavailable online as well as on paper. I guess that’s what life is like when you prefer non-fiction.

I have seen a lot of scientific evidence that shows how life can form from natural processes. Using that and my understanding of evolution, I have little doubt that there is life on other planets. I’m also convinced that there exists what we would call intelligent life on other planets. When it comes to life that can traverse the universe I hesitate to have any confidense. If we find it to be possible, with warp technology or wormholes, then I will assume it could have been discovered somewhere else as well. The biggest hold up I have for such advanced species is the tendency for extinction from societal competition or extraplanetary forces from asteroids to star death.

Finally, something I understand in this list.

I am not nearly computer literate enough to understand what all these comments are talking about. But I expected personal bias to be one of the answers.

I have one surviving grandparent. I used to reach out on occassions. He never tried calling me but I have seen pictures of him on Facebook.
