It’s sane to have drama. It means we have humans doing the job and power dynamics being discussed. If there’s no drama, it means some people got shut down.

The morality of the meme was “You think Israel controls US when it is US who controls Israel”. I say it’s a very bold claim either way. They have aligned ideals but they can’t be considered only as the tool of the other. Clearly if US were to stop funding Israel’s plans they would not be able to fight as much, but US also benefit from Israel with weaponry, war engineering and intel.
What about both are conspiracies, and people act as they see fit? Doesn’t mean they’ll do good or not abide to their partners rules

Programming@programming.dev•Can anybody explain why CUDA and Rocm are necessary and why OpenCL isn't the solution?
2·8 months agoCheck Wolf (in my other comment), it’s the best example of GPU virtualization usage.
Otherwise you can check other docker images using GPU for computing, like jellyfin for instance, or nextcloud recognize, nextcloud memories and its transcoding instance,…

Programming@programming.dev•Can anybody explain why CUDA and Rocm are necessary and why OpenCL isn't the solution?
11·8 months agoCheck implementations before saying shit like that. Nvidia has historical bad open source driver support, which makes it hard for people to implement vGPU usage. They actually actively blocked us from using their cards remotely, until COVID hit. Then they gave out the code to do it. They are still limiting customer level cards usage on virtualization cases. They had to give out a toolkit for us to be able to use their cards on docker. Other cards can be accessed just by sharing dev driver files to the volume.

31·11 months agoI ended up making a script to convert them properly, from things I found on the web here and there.

For resizing GIFs, I recommend imagemagick CLI tool though.
2016, I was so pissed we didn’t have a proper emoji panel in Linux that I tried to make one. I never got to understand IM properly enough to implement it correctly, but here is the code : https://github.com/Murazaki/EmojiPanel

Technology@lemmy.ml•New US Rule Aims to Block China’s Access to AI Chips and Models by Restricting the World
3·11 months agoThat argument makes more sense, but manufacturing is their strength. How many parts of ASML are actually done outside Asia? I don’t know honestly but as we manufacture most electronics and tools there, the only option to hide technology from China for US is working exclusively with Taiwan (Korea and Japan maybe but expensive) to make those.

Interesting. In France, even with LLC, as a shareholder, you are responsible of the impact of a company going bankrupt. That also means you can’t let anyone destroy the company without acting against them. I would consider that as a compelling argument if the CEO is being a liability to the company.
