Is this a thing? I feel like I often have to repeat my very clear and simple words and even then people remember them differently than I do? I thought I was just insane
2·9 months agoThe problem I had with Vinge’s Sky series is that the first book is so, so amazing. Like wonderfully amazing concepts that I wanted to read all about, so I immediately went and read the other 2.
Book 2 is ok but crap compared to book 1.
And book 3 sucks.
Neither book 2 or 3 explore any of the interesting concepts from A Fire Upon The Deep, and I wanted so, so much more, and it just left me deeply disappointed.
Masking, stimming, and avoiding situations I can’t cope with
I didnt even know I had it until I was in my early 40s, I just thought most of the world was just fucking weird as shit
So I learned to mask pretty damn well

Humans have fucked it all up and we deserve to be replaced by our successor species.
I’d much rather have AGI in control than politicians and billionaires.

Yeah technically but the words are interchangeable and it’s only management types with pointless jobs that are going to be first up against the wall who send out emails about the requirement to call people consumer, customer, etc.

Here it is illegal for anyone who isn’t a licensed electrician to install anything permanent and electrical, such as a ceiling fan
My father was a freakin electrician and I helped him with many jobs over the years, but I’m not allowed to install a ceiling fan, even if there’s existing wiring…
