51·1 day agodisclaimer: linux noob here.
the separate pull request appears to be for archinstall, “a helper library which automates the installation of Arch Linux.” it would collect user age during installation… somehow?

2·1 day agoIt’s wholly owned and operated by Paramount Skydance. I’m sure they have to “pay” the parent company for tax reasons and stuff but why would that be an issue here? The content rights are all owned by the same company that owns Pluto TV. Maybe in Canda they aren’t offering it because they operate in partnership with Corus Entertainment?

4·2 days agodang, that sucks. pluto is owned by Paramount Skydance so i’m not sure why they wouldn’t be able to offer it in canada.

It just says that when installed it was enabled, and it has been disabled later on. As for this apache server just after install Loaded: loaded (/usr/lib/systemd/system/httpd.service; disabled; vendor preset: disabled) – admstg Commented Dec 7, 2023 at 10:50

2·4 days agomine doesn’t appear to be? it says installed but disabled. unless i’m looking at the wrong service which is entirely possible.

It’s pretty annoying though. I’m sure there’s some way to remove it but until you activate there’s a watermark that shows up over every single application telling you to activate.
only if you don’t know how to reset secureboot?

2·4 days agoThanks for explaining it a bit more. I moved from Windows 11 to CachyOS (limine bootloader and kde plasma DE) sometime last year and that may be a bit above my paygrade right now. Based on what I’m seeing in the Arch Wiki it would seem that quite a few systemd components are in use for my distro.

How do you know! Have you tried it?
