Personally I’m more a fan of material, but it isn’t without it’s faults.

The general idea is that you use it to take notes on research papers or websites (optionally though it’s Zotero integration), then when the time comes to write a technical paper, you can research from the comfort of your Zettelkasten, directly cite the research you took notes on and automate proper citations with BibTex, write in raw markdown if preferred, create tables natively, embed charts and graphs directly and properly track them using figure notation, do full layout templates in LaTeX, support LaTeX math equations, and a lot more.

Basically it solves the fragmentation problem researchers have had for a long time by integrating all the standards instead of trying to centrally replace them or declare them unnecessary.

I’ll also toss out Zettlr, which is ideal for technical/scientific writing and publishing. Massive displacement in the scientific/technical community pushing out the incumbent Google, Microsoft, and (gasp) raw LaTeX.

Frankly I think it’s exactly what it needs to be, bugfixes not withstanding. It’s complex, fun, challenging, but not overwhelming.

The only thing I can think i might want are more challenges, but that’s such a minor thing if I never got another I’d be perfectly content.

I’m not really a webdev, more backend or full stack at this point. I do know about C & C++ strong presence in firmware, OS, HPC, video gaming, and elsewhere.

But by the numbers there’s a lot more webdevs than any other kind out there, and that doesn’t even touch on NodeJS leaking into backend and elsewhere.

I really wonder about their methodology. JavaScript/Typescript is nearly ubiquitous in webdev, and has been making strides in the backend space for almost a decade now. No matter how you feel about it (yeah it’s terrible, I’ve been press-ganged into it this year) it’s a real force in the marketplace.

It’s super surprising to me it’s still behind C and C++.

No, you specifically need a diety in the original and in the rework.

Specifically, in the rework all alignments have been removed, therefore the alignment requirements for the champion subclasses, and the champion subclasses themselves have been removed.

Instead, in the rework you select a diety, you must then adhere to that diety’s edicts and anathemas, and then you are granted specific powers from the diety according to that diety’s domains.

This is something as old as time. I’ve seen it prolifically on Reddit (though not in the Emacs community, they generally discourage memes), various Linux forums, old Usenet, various programming forums… I’m not trying to be evasive, but it’s hard to provide examples that aren’t specifically cherry picked, which wouldn’t benefit the conversation much.

Bruh 😂 the Emacs user community absolutely constantly shit on Vim users. When they added Vi(m) bindings they literally named it ‘evil mode’, and they constantly make fun of people who use it, and spacemacs, and the latest flavor of (neo)vi(m), and all the extensions necessary to make vim halfway useful as an ide, etc etc etc.

This is precisely what Opensuse MicroOS, Aeon, etc do, with the one difference that they use the snapshots as a fallback rather than a test env.
