With enough LSD, any Mac is a color Mac!
It’s MacOS 9 running on a PowerBook G3, with Holiday Lights running and a Kaleidoscope Scheme from Xmas 1999 applied! Although the same screenshot could be taken on any color Mac back to System 7.5 I think
I’m thinking M6 is probably when it’ll be finally worth it to replace my MBP M1 Pro…
I think I’m actually more interested in getting Wi-Fi 7 than the CPU.

It’s not so much “constantly leaving it plugged in” as “constantly leaving it at a high state of charge” (near 100%) which naturally follows from the first.
In recent versions of iOS and macOS, Apple have added features to keep the battery at 80% charge as much as possible for this very reason - it massively extends battery life to not be at 100% all the time.

Yeah my friend left his MacBook Pro at airport security and when he was reunited 3 weeks later it still had like 50% charge with him tracking it using Find My the whole time
White guy in Japan. A lot of people will assume I don’t speak any Japanese (=am a tourist). I’ve had it many times where after a transaction at a shop, the staff literally tells me “I’m so glad you spoke Japanese, I was so afraid when you walked up since I can’t speak English”

How can Spez be so clueless
The logic was just that when UNIX was originally evolving, they ran out of disk space on their PDP-11 and had to start moving less-essential binaries to a different disk. That’s why it’s “/usr/” which was originally for user data but that disk happened to have free space.
Any other explanation is just retcon. Some distros try to simplify things.
I literally said it has nothing to do with Photoshop - if you shoot a photo on your iPhone or Google Pixel it shoots in HDR, and then you just use the built-in editor on your PHONE, it will edit in HDR. Linux is worse than Pixel and iOS stock photo apps at photo editing. I don’t know why you’re obsessed with Photoshop.
This isn’t about being fancy with Photoshop layering together bracketed photos - modern flagship smartphones all shoot direct in HDR. Basic edits in stuff like Apple Photos on the Mac or Google Photos take this into account.

History: I used/preferred Android until the iPhone 4S. I still have Android phones/tablets laying around for software testing.
One fun story: I had to implement the Google Pay equivalent of Apple Pay QR code passes and holy crap was that a shit-show. One Android phone I had had literally two different things called Google Pay, one as an app and one hidden in the Settings menu, with different feature sets and different passes. What the hell???
Some things make more sense with additional context. Like, Europe was on the PAL standard while Japan was on NTSC, so even if you put them both in the same region, they couldn’t watch each other’s discs, so the region code could be re-used without it actually conflicting.
There were some extreme examples, one with a MASSIVE dragon head and legs coming out of every single window. There’s a bot on mastodon that posts a random one every couple hours.
