Without going into much detail, my workplace sells a product that’s makes use of an industrial computer that has two regular off-the-shelf hard drives in it. For some reason both hard drives are similar, but were sourced from different manufacturers. We got a notification from the provider that manufacturer B would cease production and proposed us to use two drives from manufacturer A instead.

I had the genius idea of giving my two cents and suggested we accept as it will work, they are just standard hard drives after all.

Now I became the hard drive expert at work, got dragged into endless meetings and being asked the dumbest of questions regarding this change. It’s been a year and the change hasn’t been approved by higher ups yet.

I just went to a restaurant yesterday and there was a couple from the US sitting behind us and they were so loud, they were even starting conversations with people on the adjacent tables, one of them were German (I think) and pretended not to speak English, and kept bothering everyone next to them.

I have a ~/Sync folder with a symlink to all my Syncthing shares, which I have quite a lot of. Helps me find them quickly and reminds me that everything in there us pulled or pushed somewhere else.

From back when I used to freelance as a photo and video editor. ~/Media which was a mount point for my second hard drive with all the personal and paid customer’s I was working on, it was a mix of Music, Photos and Videos that I was creating, but not consuming if that makes sense.

I was diagnosed with Autism at the ripe old age of 33. When I told my parents about it, my mum lost her mind because I was actually diagnosed at 7, she just never told me in hopes I will be “normal” and thought she got away with it.

I just migrated my personal projects to Codeberg (and sent a donation their way too!). As soon as I update the origins on my servers I’ll be deleting my GitHub account.

The one FOSS project I contribute to was already being hosted on GitLab to begin with. And my work just announced we’ll be migrating to GitLab as well.

I’m on the same boat, I got 2016 around Eternal release date for like €10 and loved it. Then I bought Eternal just last year for a similar deal and I haven’t finished the DLC yet. I am more than happy to wait for DA to go on sale.

I think the term you’re looking for is isolated vlan in which each device on a network cannot see its peers, which is a common setting in (properly configured) public WiFi hotspots.

edit: oh, you want to access from the phone itself, I did not test that, but it should be easy to test with termux

My employer hired a consultancy company to implement some terraform and ansible code for some cloud infra and we got in return hundreds of machine generated code lines that do not work and now are suing the consultant.

Yes, Clonezilla runs off a live USB. If it is large enough it can also store the partition you want to clone, making the whole process a lot simpler.
