I wouldn’t say this is obvious or completely true. Burning calories is separate from digestion - for example, if you’re burning them too fast (e.g., sprinting), your body will divert resources towards the running, which will slow digestion.

Similar situation for me. I even took a long break years ago when they did some other shady shit and I went to Voat for a while. Unfortunately that platform kind of degraded and was anyway prone to the same issues as Reddit. So far I’ve been using the Memmy app, which has some Apollo-like feel, and it seems that the concept of Lemmy and the fediverse are a more stable and interesting alternative than just another Reddit clone.
