+1 to that!
Hey, welcome! Glad you’re here
Replaced on old windows install on living room media pc with popOS. Newer hardware, just didn’t make sense to run such a vulnerable and outdated os any more and I wasn’t about to pay for a new windows version for it. A few choice apps linked in the dock, and the main streaming websites bookmarked on homepage in the browser, and we are golden. No issues making the switch really, apart from occasional Bluetooth hiccups with the combo wireless keyboard/trackpad that drives everything. To be fair, Bluetooth occasionally has a meltdown on windows or Mac as well, so I don’t think this detracts from a successful conversion. The end result is actually much more stable and approachable for the whole fam, so quite happy with results.
Trump had 61 court cases alleging election interference and voter fraud, and every last one was immediately thrown out during discovery because he provided no evidence. Thankfully completely bullshit claims do still fall flat in the us justice system.
However, the fake electors scheme was a very real coups attempting to subvert democracy, and we have plenty of evidence on it. I’d love for Harris to appoint an aggressive AG who will work tirelessly to ensure this doesn’t happen again because of the consequences for treason.
Relax bidey-bro, this thread is about data privacy laws, not general stuff. The only relevant one I’m aware of is DMCA, which was in fact signed into law by Bill Clinton.
Yep, this is good for Lemmy
We’re long overdue for a new reform party to run on few or single issue platforms, eg. to end FPTP and institute national ranked choice or star voting. They’d certainly be immune from corporate bribe money trying to drop these policies.
If they ran as independents to do just that, they’d have my vote. And it’s crazy enough it just might work.
HL3 is on the way bro, trust me!
Pretty sure there was another female agent who was covering him in front, so this meme seems a bit cherry picked
Trump’s the perfect figurehead for MAGA, why should he drop out?
Democratic politicians feel this way because they are mostly friends with their colleagues across the aisle. They all eat at the same luncheons together, hang out at the same establishments in DC, attend the same fundraisers and lobbying events.
I think the voters tend to have a different point of view from those in DC. Consider that even Republican lawmakers were running for their life on Jan6. Dem voters are growing fatigued with the constant gaslighting from the establishment politicians, and hopefully soon might provide cause for their “elected representatives” to flee as well. At this point we’ve been left with painfully few alternatives.
Lastly just want to say I do agree with full treason charges for anyone involved with Jan6. Obstruction was a laughable wrist slap, this is far too serious for such measures. The rioters kind of had the right idea but for literally all of the wrong reasons. It’s tea party republicans all over again (which was funded by Koch bros of course). Instead of addressing this in a serious manner, Dems considered doing nothing at all for 2 years before they finally started bringing the wrong charges. Pathetic.
The RNC never intended to run a candidate other than Trump because he controls MAGA, which is what remains of their energized base. The primaries they held were “just in case” Merrick Garland actually did something useful and successfully prosecuted Trump for insurrection, which never came to pass.
The DNC did everything they could to prevent primary elections from occurring in various states, and bullied anyone who was floating a run into submission. This included the state dept making calls to state DNC committees to cancel primaries, or remove certain candidates from their ballots. According to them, it was an insult to Biden admin and their legacy to even suggest another candidate should run. And now look where that’s gotten us.
So no, we didn’t actually vote in primaries this year because the establishment refuses to relinquish the status quo.
It is kind of amazing how even those disenfranchised voters will rally to support the hegemony of the “two party” corporatist rule. I suggested recently we could consider rallying behind a single issue 3rd party candidate who would end the legalized bribes and replace FPTP with a more democratic alternative, and was immediately downvoted and told it’s not possible due to FPTP.
facepalm
Fingers crossed
Ubisoft has been trash for a long time now. It’s a shame that they control some good IP, but the company’s too far gone to ever be trustworthy. Save your time and money and just play something else imo.
Please…no Bakula.
Yeah that’s basically how leaps work. In this Calls example, you aren’t really betting that on expiry the stock will be near or slightly above the target price. You’re betting that sometime in the next 3 years, the price will be above the option price, or at least ahead of the expected rate of growth. Then you cash out on the additional extrinsic value at that point in time by selling the option.
Nvidia 3080ti Linux crew checking in. It’s pretty good! pop-os helps make it easy if you’re unsure.
