Iguaçu Falls, on the border between Brazil and Argentina. Nearby you could also visit Itaipu Dam, formerly largest in the world.
Going a bit into the same Brazilian state of Paraná, there’s also the amazing Vila Velha park, with incredible sandstone formations.
blaue_Fledermaus@mstdn.ioto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why is there so much separation in the USA between people who identify as "black" or "white" compared to other regions like South America?91·4 months agoBrazil did much worse slavery, but the racism is “softer”, there was a moment when 80% of the population was enslaved black/mixed people (indigenous were mostly just genocided away).
Because most people are mixed, the racism here today is just on looks instead of ancestry, and AFAIK less violent.
blaue_Fledermaus@mstdn.ioto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What do you believe that most people of your political creed don't?192·4 months agoAbortion is sometimes the less monstrous alternative in a horrible situation, and it should never be seen as less than that.
Women should have enough social safety nets that abortion would never even cross their minds.
It is mostly Capitalism with its focus on productivity and selling youth and beauty that pressures women into it, women are “freeing” themselves into Capitalistic slavery. From: “leftist” privileged cis het white guy, feel free to ignore or bash me
blaue_Fledermaus@mstdn.ioto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•If you could rearrange the days in a week, what would your ideal month look like.82·5 months agoPersonally I prefer it starting on Sunday, but also here with Portuguese being the main language it only makes sense to start on Sunday, Monday to Friday are called second-fair, third-fair, fourth-fair, fifth-fair, and sixth-fair. Fair as in either market or festival.
blaue_Fledermaus@mstdn.ioto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•What really are the flaws of allowing anyone to euthanize themselves or relatives like we do sick animals?06·7 months agoSimilar to abortion, while there are legitimate cases, the capitalistic system will pressure people into doing it to increase profit and power to the elites.
I haven’t really looked into it, but isn’t Friendica supposed to be the FOSS Fediverse Facebook?

Also a type of duck we in my region of Brazil call “marreco”, the name in English seems to be Teal or Garganey.
