I had the same thought about therapy. Like who says that’s a dopamine source? Feels like they just added random activities here. How about ice skating or baking as well?

lerba@piefed.socialto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Is anyone NOT steaming their Music?English4·17 days agoI used spotify for a few months about 10 years ago until they doubled their price and removed songs that I had saved in playlists. Since then I haven’t bothered with streaming.
lerba@piefed.socialto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What instruments are super resonant and do that thing where they surround you with sound?English3·19 days agoGong
Singing bowls / tibetan bowls
On a positive note, they are probably not participating in the future gene pool
lerba@piefed.socialto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Are you a feminist? (If so why, if not why not?)English34·2 months agoI believe in balancing quotas and rebuilding social structures to be more inclusive. That’s something that takes several generations to bear fruit.
Shaming or bullying anyone for what kind of body or privilege they were born into is where I draw the line.
edit: those who downvoted this are most welcome to reply this comment and explain their point. I’m open to discuss
lerba@piefed.socialto Privacy@lemmy.ml•i am really worried about what's going on in euEnglish1·2 months agoYeah I think it’s very subjective and this one anedcote is just that.
In Germany cash is preferred in most places, and that makes tracking payments difficult. This is not the case in most other european countries. That’s an another anecdote for you.
lerba@piefed.socialto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•how can we make Lemmy as popular as RedditEnglish3·2 months agoI understand what you mean, and agree that not everything needs to be put in words. At the same time though, it’s really healthy to expose yourself to others even if you just write “I like the way you formulated this.” or “Makes sense, I hadn’t thought of it like this before”. That way it turns into a real discussion - a bit like in the real 3d world.
Up/ downvoting is basically anonymous and adds nothing to the discussion.
And, sometimes, other users misunderstand our comments, and then we need to respond to them to get our point through. All of this is a healthy way to challenge our thinking.
lerba@piefed.socialto Privacy@lemmy.ml•i am really worried about what's going on in euEnglish21·2 months agoWhat do you mean with chat control BS? Care to share a link?
That being said, there are a lot of worrying politicians out there.
lerba@piefed.socialto Privacy@lemmy.ml•i am really worried about what's going on in euEnglish410·2 months agoI don’t understand what your article has to do with privacy. I understood that is the framework of this conversation. Yes, there’s a lot of scary rightwing policing in Germany, but can we stay on topic?
lerba@piefed.socialto Privacy@lemmy.ml•i am really worried about what's going on in euEnglish510·2 months agoI feel like at least in Germany privacy matters are alive and kicking thanks to GDPR / DSGVO
lerba@piefed.socialto ADHD@lemmy.world•What do you consider the bare essentials for a system for managing your Adhd?English10·2 months agoHow about routine?
Like, first thing every morning - brush your teeth, make your bed. Every thursday evening - clean your flat. Tuesday at 6pm - check with your closest friends if they have weekend plans.
etc

lerba@piefed.socialto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•how can we make Lemmy as popular as RedditEnglish14·2 months agoUp/Downvoting is so 2015. Instead, comment on any interesting posts, and especially the ones with zero comments. This platform is meant to be about discussion, and not just mindlessly sharing links or memes.
I, personally, am more inclined to check out a post if it has at least one (non-bot, non OP) comment.
lerba@piefed.socialto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why is kindness often viewed as a sign of naïveté?English2·2 months agoThat’s a good quote.
Also props for recognizing your own people-pleasing tendencies. And I’m glad to hear you’ve worked on it. It takes time to understand what causes us to be like that. It might be out of fear of rejection or some other unwanted outcome. And it could be based on some irrational assumptions or beliefs.
To be able to accept any outcome in any situation is very difficult, but a strong foundation for confidence and inner peace.
lerba@piefed.socialto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why is kindness often viewed as a sign of naïveté?English7·2 months agoThere are different kinds of kindness. The people-pleasing kind may come across as being naive and triggers some people. Another kind of kindness is to actually care and be curious about others and that usually comes across better.
lerba@piefed.socialto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What movie did you see too young that still haunts you to this day?English21·3 months agoI had the same experience with that movie! By the way, please try not to kill spiders…
