Technology@lemmy.ml•Google's AI Deletes User's Entire Hard Drive, Issues Groveling Apology: "I Cannot Express How Sorry I Am"
30·2 months agoWerner Vogels introduced in his closing speech at re:Invent this year the term “Verification Debt” and my stomach sank, knowing that term is going to define our roles in the future. The tool (AI) isn’t going to get the blame in the future, you are. You are going to spend so much time verifying what it has generated is correct, the gains of using an AI, may start to be less beneficial than we think.

512·7 months agoThere was a bit of controversy about them a couple of years back that put me off.
- They used to disable Wayland and force X11 - that was a pain.
- They didn’t fully open source all components I think.
- There was some concerns about where it was being developed, I think it’s entirely Chinese devs.
What is the app?

Memes@lemmy.ml•There are 2 types of people who hate on Democrats
17·10 months agoI’ve read similar before. I’ve heard that the UK’s Conservative Party (Tory’s) are more aligned with the US Democrats in their outlook than the US Republicans. The Tory’s are generally considered our right wing (there are smaller more right wing parties though).

Linux@lemmy.ml•Is there an easy way to filter all terminal commands that contain a --help flag?
9·10 months agoI think this is the correct answer in all honesty. Create a new script like help (or man2 or whatever) that pipes the argument through bat for you.
