I like roboinvester accounts. You put money in, it automatically invests in stocks for you based on your current age and risk tolerance (which you can change whenever you like). I particularly like Wealthfront, and their app/website are really good. They’ll manage $10-15k for free, and then above that you pay a small fee out of your earnings for their service. If you use someone’s sign-up link, they’ll bump your managed amount by $5k. Comment back if you’re interested and I can share mine. Good luck with your investment, whatever you choose!
Been there! No sweat, was just checking open source documentation standards hadn’t gotten ridiculously high recently 🙃
I feel like their documentation is pretty solid…?
And exude is not the word they wanted there - most likely it should have been exert
Do you have a source on SW moving to assigned seats? That’s devastating news to me :(
The intro text from that page for those interested:
In the Indian subcontinent, hijra[n 1] are transgender, intersex, or eunuch people who live in communities that follow a kinship system known as guru-chela system.[5][6][7][8] They are also known as aravani, aruvani, and jogappa.[9] The term is used in Pakistanas khawaja sira, the equivalent of transgender in the Urdu language.[10]
In Western terms, most hijras are feminine-identified people assigned male at birth. Hijras are officially recognised as a third gender throughout countries in the Indian subcontinent,[11][12][13] being considered neither completely male nor female. Hijras’ identity originates in ancient Hinduism and evolved during the Delhi Sultanate (1206–1526) and Mughal Empire (1526–1707).[14][15]
Many hijras today live in well-defined and organised all-hijra communities, led by a guru.[7] These communities have consisted over generations of those who are in abject poverty or who have been rejected by or fled their family of origin.[16] Many of them are sex workers.[17]
The word hijra is a Hindustani word.[18] It has traditionally been translated into English as “eunuch” or “hermaphrodite”, where “the irregularity of the male genitalia is central to the definition”.[19] However, in general hijras have been born male, with only a few having been born with intersex variations.[20] Some hijras undergo an initiation rite into the hijra community called nirvaan, which involves the removal of the penis, scrotum and testicles.[17]
Since the late 20th century, some hijra activists and non-government organizations have lobbied for official recognition of the hijra as a kind of “third sex” or “third gender”, as neither man nor woman.[21]Hijras have successfully gained this recognition in Bangladesh and are eligible for priority in education and certain kinds of low paid jobs.[22][23] In India, the Supreme Court in April 2014 recognised hijras, transgender people, eunuchs, and intersex people as a “third gender” in law.[5][24][25]Nepal, Pakistan, India and Bangladesh have all legally accepted the existence of a third gender, with India, Pakistan and Nepal including an option for them on passportsand certain official documents.[26]
I think this cat might have been getting into the protein powder too
There are better ways to manage your anxiety than with nicotine. You’re anxious about your parents finding out because you know they’ll be upset, and they’ll be upset because of the negative impact you’re having on yourself by vaping. Maybe you should consider why they would feel that way.
No, you’re conflating two different concepts that share the term. Alcohol directly causes central nervous system depression, which is distinct from depressive disorder (aka depression) - the neurological condition. Regular alcohol use/abuse can lead to depressive disorder, but in an indirect way. CNS depressants (alcohol) actually increase GABA neurotransmitter activity, which slows brain activity. This effect on your nervous system has no known direct link to depressive disorder.
Thanks for taking the feedback and continuing to work on this. Honestly, I thought you had given up on the app when you went on that fishing trip that just seemed to keep continuing 😆. Not knocking you - everyone deserves time to themselves. But glad to see this app is still something you’re working on!
Ok I’ll give you that - being able to inline gifs is sick
Honestly, it’s a couple things. First of all is just general compatibility. There are certain domains that don’t play at all (redgifs, for example). They just show up as links to click. Then, there are ones that are a little more transient, but still negatively affect the UX. An example is if you browse !videos@lemmy.world right now. The first post there (https://aussie.zone/post/6569161) won’t load for me in the feed, and will only load if I click into the post. Once it’s loaded, I can go back out and it’ll play in the feed - but no matter how many times I try or how long I wait, it won’t play in the original feed. Additionally, the play/pause, sound controls, and scrubbing controls are only available if I click into the post. They work, but it’s less convenient.
Here are examples of my experience in both apps:
Avelon (and I forgot to show you can scrub the gif directly in the feed)
Idk, the lackluster support for gifs has kinda killed it for me. I’m finding Avelon to be a much closer replacement
Ok well…I sustained an injury to the tip of my dick and it turns out that’s a location that rubs on the material of your boxers or pants all the time. So I was in pretty constant discomfort. Decided to try a bandaid, and of course the standard ones really don’t sit all that flush and they would just snag and pull off inside my underwear. Then I tried one of those waterproof ones and it conformed to the shape perfectly. “Don’t worry, you won’t forget about something attached to the tip of your penis,” I told myself. But damn if those things don’t sit so comfortably you completely forget they’re there. And by god let me tell you, the absolute shock, fear, and confusion a man can feel when he’s dick in hand, has relaxed all his bladder muscles, and fully expects to start peeing, only for some phantom-handed chokehold to hold it all back a half second after release…well it’s not something you’re likely to forget.
Spoken like someone who’s never tried to pee and been blocked by a bandaid before
Just going to leave this link here for anyone coming into this thread looking for answers:
They’ll last through showers and they’re strong enough to hold your pee in. Don’t ask me how I know.
