I feel obligied to make the stupid comment that of course drug cartels ship drugs into the US. In fact it is done completely legally, by US pharmaceutical corporations. Isn’t this why we had the whole opioid crisis?
Let people communicate however works well for them. Especially, if it increases speed/productivity. And even if not, it will raise workplace morale, which in turn will most likely increase production again.
Absolutely true, and yet wonehow we also ended up with commercial breaks in movies on streaming platforms on top of that.
The better comparison would be to say that solar power panels are a complete design mistake because they get hot when in the sun thus hampering their function. Yes, it is not perfect, but it still works way better than nothing.
And even then most of the ones that made it through/past the immune system are still eventually fought off again by the immune system. I.e. you don’t have to take an external antibiotic for every cold.
Am I missing something or is OP just posting the same question again in the same community a few days later? How new…
Bullying is almost always about being able to single out a person that is somehow different in order to create a synthetic group feeling in opposition to them. Whether that be financially, absent parents, neurodivergence etc.
Isn’t it possible for epilepsie to be induced by strobe lights? And that is a type of seizure, right? So I would imagine other types of seizures could also have triggers. Definitely not a doctor though, so I might be completely mistaken.
Something might be wrong. The might is really important. Try to give tgem s chance/situation to open up if there is something troubling them. Sometimes the first sentence of telling someone is tge most difficult.
This isn’t entirely true. Sometimes queen bees have their wings cur off to insure they stay in the beehive, and thus make the beehive produce honey. Also, the queens can then often be discarded/killed at the end of the season. So no harm being done in the production of honey is not always the case.
I feel like there should be an option to certify honey as being vegan if no harm is done to the bees in the process though.
I feel with you for losing things, but please do not bring the whole my rights debate here into Lemmy. If Lemmy hosts/admins start getting into legal trouble the whole network will collapse. It’s a nice place to share things without any responsibilities or rights. At least this is my opinion.
That being said, I would also strongly suggest to keep local backups of art you upload. It can always happen that data corruption occurs even on a server that might make thinga get lost, and that would be really sad in the case of art.
(Obviousely not saying this is what happened in your case.)
You’re directly replying/commenting to your own post? Can’t exactly see the logic in that.
Not to diminish the question; I think it is an interesting thought experiment, but thr conditions set in this are immensely subjective.
Are we saying capable as in theoretically could have the ability to contribute workforce or are currently contributing workforce? How do we say what thriving means? I’m assuming when you say living you mean reach wome standard of living and not just exclusively surviving etc.
In a theoretical/fair world probably around 98% of people 30+ can support themselves, exclusing the few people who are sick or mentally disabled. In our current world that number is significantly lower, but that is a result of structural/political issues, not if the individual peoples capabilities.
There should be a separate teen questions forum and not build that into this one.
This, and also, you should always feel entitled to have your own opinions and likes/dislikes. This should never be considered being a bad person. Just don’t go and try to build a society where people are considered criminals just because they do not share your likes/dislikes.
What is the point in having a nostupidquestion community if you call people out for asking questions? Just ignore it and move on if you do not like it.
Oh, I did not realize that it worked this way. I always figured the reply object would have to first be created on the post’s original server (simply listing the reply creator as being from a foreign server) and then federated outwards from the post’s original sever again. I did not realize that replies could be directly created on foreign servers, as from the viewpoint of the original post server.
This is (sadly) such an important statement in our modern world.
This is also why there is a lot of work being done on room-temperature (-ish at least) supervonductors.
