I don’t see the need particularly but my guess at the “big company” mentioned is Apple. They seem like the type to jump at the opportunity to use a new technology to make quieter and thinner laptops. They already make some laptops without any cooling fans despite how inadvisable that sounds.

Would it be more interesting to have a Ciri that specifically doesn’t have most of the Witcher powers? Maybe, but I can understand them wanting to keep most of the gameplay staples. It looks like they are trying to keep most of Geralt’s moves and then adding some new ones.

Whatever happens, it should be interesting! I think what I’m most excited about is Ciri has a different morality and worldview - I’m excited to see how that ends up affecting the writing.

Unions typically have an agreement where employees don’t have to join the union but they still have to pay a fee equivalent to union dues, and the employer can’t pay non-members more than union members, or other similar restrictions.

I don’t see how lasik could possibly be a cost savings. I’ve gotten fairly nice glasses for $150 without insurance. I’ve gotten glasses for less than that with insurance.

One pair of glasses can last a long time if you take care of them (and if your eyes don’t get worse).

LASIK isn’t a permanent solution and eventually you’ll need glasses again.

It really depends on what’s wrong with your eyes. Glasses or contacts are probably the best method (in terms of safety, reliability, and cost) for the most common problems, but I’m guessing if you are asking this question that either won’t help your case or you aren’t happy with them.

You can probably get it to work in Wine with some effort, and definitely should be able to get it to work in a virtual machine.

I’ve gotten some old games working in a Windows XP vm in VirtualBox, using disk images I made from the old disks.

The GOG release might be easier to get working (GOG themselves are updating it to work on modern OSes, and it’s DRM free so you don’t have to worry about the keys or anything).

Hmm I don’t see visible dust on it but maybe there’s just very light dust or it blends in with the grey filament I’m using. I’ll give that a try!

My last print it did eventually finish but I had to pause the print to do a cold pull multiple times.

Any advice on how to dry out old filament?

I’ve got some filament that’s been sitting out for about 2 years and it’s been clogging my hot end. I use my printer relatively infrequently and so I now have a lot of filament that’s potentially ruined.
