Yes, but that problem has literally nothing to do with the Steam Deck.

That cat is is too cool for school.
I’ll wait till it’s $10
Used the n-word on stream, promoted alt-right content, and some other racist shit… Google it for details.
After the Wii, I sword that I was never going to buy another console just to play Zelda. I eventually got a Switch to play Breath of the Wild and basically nothing else (I owned a total of 4 Switch games). When they sued the shit out of the Yuzu people, I decided it was time to finally live up to the promise I had made. I gave the Switch, which I hadn’t touched in years, to a friend to use as a gift for his kids and committed to never giving Nintendo another penny.
I’ll reevaluate that stance if they ever make significant changes to their practices.
I recently broke a decade plus boycott of EA products to purchase Split Fiction for full price. My friend asked me to play It Takes Two with him for free through friend pass and I was so impressed by it that I wanted to support the devs. Besides, the whole point of the boycott was to “vote with my wallet” and I want them to know that I want more games with that kind of quality made by teams that are (seemingly) happy to be doing what they do.
At least 1 is a rehash of an N64 game.
That one you could just emulate.
This is the part I can’t wrap my head around. I’ve been a productive member of thr workforce for over 20 years but the idea that this is what the rest of my life consists of horrifies me.
You Nintendo shills are hilarious. Have fun shelling out premium prices for out of date tech.
Then don’t buy it. Buying it tells them it’s ok to keep raising prices.
Grounded is a masterpiece. One of my favorite games of the last decade. Pentiment is also fantastic but it’s not really a technical marvel.
I haven’t played Avowed yet because the somewhat mixed reviews and $70 price tag plus my backlog of games encouraged me to wait for a sale.
AI could have some pretty cool uses as an enhancement to voice actors. Imagine all of the NPCs in an RPG being able to say the customized name of your character aloud instead of everyone using a title or nickname that you were assigned. It’s a real shame that we have to use everything for evil instead.
Happy Gilmore 2.
WTF? Why is this a thing?
Based on the size of the company and the budget for the game I’d at least call it a AA game. My real point is I paid full price for it and have absolutely no regrets.
Baldur’s Gate 3 and Elden Ring are the last 2 AAA games I bought close to launch for full price. Other than that, I picked up Hades 2 in early access. The rest of my library is all stuff that I bought on sale.
I do have Monster Hunter and Avowed on my wishlist but I think I’m going to be patient. If I do pull the trigger, it would probably be for Avowed because I want more Obsidian games. On a related note Grounded is $20 on Steam right now so I stopped that up even though I beat it back when I had Game Pass.
Damn… I thought I’d get to be the old guy with my 35 years experience.
Actually read the whole post. The launcher is already embedded and you have to link you ubi account to your steam account.
A very fair point, but alas… for better or worse, the bar has indeed been raised, and last month only proved that. February 2025 saw the release of a new RPG from one of the most beloved studios in the genre, Obsidian Entertainment. Avowed is modest by design, but nonetheless it’s polished, accessible, and visually impressive, with a rich story from some of the best writers in the business—and the backing of Microsoft, one of the most influential and well-resourced videogame publishers of all time.
My 6th grade teacher included the judiciary’s lack of ability to enforce their rulings as part of our lesson on checks and balances. That feels like foreshadowing now.
