  • I I wrote to someone else here I don’t really understand Lutris when I tried it about a year ago. I found it a bit confusing on how to use it and gave up rather quickly because steam ended up worked for my needs back then. But now I want remote play and Sims to work and I feel like I’m starting from scratch even though I very good with Linux. Gaming on Linux is a whole different ordeal with drivers and compatibility layers and I don’t want my girlfriend (or myself for that matter) to be bothered by this when we just want to game.

  • I’ve only ever had the opposite issue with the nozzle being too far away from the bed due to the bed leveling using a dirty nozzle because the nozzle “cleaning” rutine uses a way too cold nozzle temperature so the plastic is not soft enough to be pushed away and the filament is not retracted so it also oozes because it has been heated for too long. Imo the printer should purge, then retract then clean and then bed level.

well, it is better than an error with no description, filename, line of code nor exit code or linke to a log file… I have had way too many of those in those pesky “no code” environments and applications that is supposed to make programming equipment easy.

Through work experience ive come to understand that most normal people actually also only have surface knowledge of their supposedly specialist field, or it is so narrow and oddly specific that it doesn’t apply for real world scenarios. The difference being they are not aware of their own lack of knowledge and cannot believe that there are things they don’t actually know or need to learn in order to get better at what they do. There are far between actually good specialist who understands their own limitations.

People with ADHD I know are much more aware of their own lack of knowledge and will do absolutely everything to gather ALL the knowledge they can and use that surface knowledge they have on a million topics to find applicable places to dive further into. However controling the brain about what’s “applicable” is the issue far an ADHD brain and where we need help to sort the gold from the noise. But it is an invaluable skill to have that curiosity and creativity and knowledge of a million things, it’s just about how you use it.

  • By doing absolutely bare minimum for the actual job and spending the rest of the time on my own interests and hobies in the workshop that might og might not benefit the projects. I’m the only one capable of the highly specialized and technical challenges in our project so they can’t and won’t fire me, but I’m probably leaving soon anyway because I’m not paid enough to do anything more than bare minimum at the moment. Also drugs help. Helps a lot to not get anxiety about it.

Is it filler or is it just the truth?

I truly see it as my biggest strength that my ADHD can make me do a weeks worth of tasks in a single day when needed, or the fact that i can hear the 3D printer crashing from acros the room, or catch the tiniest imperceptible changes to the sound and rhythm of a machine I’m working on because my focus is on everything all at once. It can take my colleagues days to figure something out that I catch immediately.

Yes it doesn’t really work for cooking or tasks where you need to be precise, but then snoozing wouldn’t work anyway since 10 min would be too long for most occasions. However you can use your assistant on your phone to set precise alarms. Just say “Hey Google/Siri set an alarm for 12 minuts for the pizza” and it should set an alarm instead of a timer.

I just have a few generic alarms on my phone i keep changing for whenever i need them. They dont repeat weekly on Android automatically so they are like single use. I also do also have weekly repeating timers for remembering stuff like trash bins or groceries delivery.
