I’ve been told it’s acceptable to flick a cat’s ears (gently, obviously) because that’s what a mama cat does to her kittens when they do something dumb. Any opinions on this?
So you’re saying that one’s a bug-hunt, and the other’s a stand-up fight?
ooh then don’t miss !garfieldism@lemmy.blahaj.zone and !imsorryjon@lemmy.world…
Is there like a specific instance of her doing something?
I’ve read the following arguments:
Those cats were all mortal enemies until they were brought together by catnip.
here you go:
MEMES, SOCIAL MEDIA REPOSTS, AND HUMOR
Most of these are currently active. (except for the ones with a * which were less active last I checked). Sometimes these include politics but that’s not the sole focus.
Lemmy is like a cafe, not like a stadium.
There are a couple abilities involved:
The last two are nontrivial. You ever told someone the answer to something and they just didn’t get it? Even though it was stunningly obvious to you? The last two are why.
Anyway, to your point: a lot of times the best action is just to point someone in the right direction.
ikr sounds like that thing where Socrates’ wisdom was realizing that he was not wise.
Socrates then sought to solve the divine paradox—how an ignorant man also could be the wisest of all men—in effort to illuminate the meaning of the Oracles’ categorical statement that he is the wisest man in the land. After systematically interrogating the politicians, the poets, and the craftsmen, Socrates determined that the politicians were not wise like he was. He says of himself, in reference to a politician: “I am wiser than this man; it is likely that neither of us knows anything worthwhile, but he thinks he knows something when he does not.”(21d).[15] Socrates says that the poets did not understand their poetry; that the prophets and seers did not understand what they said; and that the craftsmen while knowing many things, thought they also had much knowledge on things of which they had none.

best? I don’t think it would turn out how you think it would…

I’m pretty sure he was kidding about the elves. In the article he says:
“I work for three hours, and then I get stumped, and I’m not making progress. So I quit, and I go and work in the tunnel. It takes me an hour or so to dig four inches and put in the 4-by-4s. … Then I go back up and work some more.”
It’s a common technique when dealing with a difficult research/creative problem.
I think it gives your subconscious a chance to work on the problem without your conscious mind interfering.
here are some ways to find communities:

aw, be nice. OP might be a kid, might not have a lot of money for a vet, might not realize that cats can be in a fair amount of pain before showing it, etc.
Not sure if this’ll help or hurt, but here’s a video of him playing Lenin: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dsiU0P-swYE
Jesus is HUNG.
fam, Easter is this weekend… show some sensitivity… /jk
Why is Jesus grabbing that guy’s neck with one hand, and his own crotch with the other?
Just to play cat’s advocate: if humans don’t think the table is clean when they sit down to eat, they are welcome to wipe it down, to add placemats, or to cover the table between meals. All of these are minor inconveniences compared to the unrealistic expectation of denying cats access to one of the room’s main furnishings when it is not in use.
because with cats it’s always “what’s in it for me?”
My guess is that it’s a resource-sharing thing.
So, I think:
I gotta say, it’ s not obvious that the human is right…
Yeah, they more like swat at their ears. I’ve seen an adult cat do this to another when they did something they didn’t like.
