That’s a pretty cool idea for a website, tracking the enshittification of major sites and products. I’d read it but I’m sure it’d be a lot of depressing, hard to monetize work for those involved to run.

91·1 year agoI don’t mind it at all. Let people vent and release from their old addiction. It’s happened for every migration going back to AOL.
If anything, WE can control what we see and if you’re in areas that constantly have reddit complaints maybe it’s time to curate that subscription list a bit better. Or use a Lemmy app that filters by keyword. You have the power.

Actually, as great as Lewis writes and as acclaimed as his career is, he completely failed with SBF and fell for the con. He was so enamored with SBF he even told friends to “buy whatever Sam says” at one point. The case later releasing the slack chats contradict his book heavily and while it’s common for Lewis to cast controversial subjects in a positive light (Wolf of Wall Street), this one was over the top and a bit of a disaster.
In fact, Behind the Bastards did a great 2 part podcast this month specifically on SBF and Lewis’ embedding in his camp. It’s fascinating.
It seems the newer ones do allow more varieties of litter these days but that’s a good reminder not all do.
Does yours look anything close to that advertisement though? Seems those might be simulated but it’s tempting if they are even half as good.
