Now, everybody needs to bend the rules and purposes to make money. SEO, bots, AI, takeovers, IPO, investments, cash grabs. Everybody’s an exception.

I love the internet. I’ve loved technology my entire life. But seeing it turn into what is has, has been awful to watch. To see family and old friends turn their backs on their morals, to speak to people willing to further a billionaire’s agenda. I knew a person who took a fat salary to be the person for a company who does something truly evil. I couldn’t believe it. I can’t say for who or what, there aren’t many people in their position, but what they do is tremendously evil. And why? Because it’s a job and it pays a fuck ton and previously they were really hard on money with their like five kids.

Capitalism, greed, and ultra weak moral compasses. I wish there were better options, but right now with who’s in power, it’s highly unlikely that anybody is able to learn any lessons without some serious turbulence. Makes me absolutely sick.

I didn’t know if it did or didn’t. But since you say that’s the case, that sucks and I hate the publishers even more.

You know how in tv shows or movies in the 90s, there were always a pair of villains or goons that worked for the main villain and were comic relief? Like the Jessie & James pair in Pokemon or the two guys in power rangers or whatever I’m thinking of.

Remember how occasionally, like if it were two guys, they’d fight between the two of them, on-screen?

I wouldn’t think a library/archive retaining data in an offline form would incur penalties, and I feel like preserving books for the future is the opposite of stupid.

Because they ARE bad console ports. Because console versions sell more, because they don’t know any better, because consoles have a lower barrier to entry, because they’re cheaper, and that means that your demographic STAYS that age, because as babies are born and become old enough to play they get consoles, so investment firms can make the same stuff and make a fuck ton of money.

PC players are old, more experienced, and generally DO know better, so garbage butt shit doesn’t sell as well as it does on consoles.

It’s not a jealousy issue, it’s one of disappointment and frustration.

We can’t change the landscape without education. This is true even for politics.

Unfortunately, change is hard and stupid people breed, and hate and destruction is easier than understanding and construction.

Pc players are so fucking desperate for good things, and the console and mobile market prevents anything good from ever happening by being terrible role models for business.

As a long-time pc user, but also used to love PlayStation and Nintendo, I dislike consoles for enabling companies to make more money on less effort and being held to lower standards, accelerating the negative effects of capitalism. Basically, irresponsible consumerism and easily manipulatable tribalism. Basically, dumb fucking kids buying endless amounts of garbage and allowing investment firms to churn out even more garbage, inviting all of the greediest MBAs and passionless pieces of shit into the gaming community. Fucking EA is now owned by Saudi Arabia and Jared Kushner.

Fuck.

I don’t hate consoles. I hate what has happened, and hated watching it happen in slow motion unable to do anything about it. It’s STILL happening, too.

Microsoft holds a LOT of blame for this. But also other things, values, groups, and entities.

I really hope that they didn’t actually delete anything, and only just removed public access.

As a lifelong gamer, gamer culture is 100% part of the problem and a primary vector for disinformation, puritan culture, sexism, homophobia, and other kinds of hate and ignorance. We have to be fucking better than this.
