Think on gifting him something inexpensive for you, bake them something or something like inviting your son’s friend to dinner at home. It’s healthy to reciprocate within your economic situation. That way it doesn’t become charity.

Steam Hardware@sopuli.xyz•Must-have Steam Deck games under £10 in the Steam Spring Sale 2025
8·10 months agoFor me deck games should give at least 2hours and a half of battery life, some of those titles aren’t good for deck even if they work on Linux and have controller controls.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•How would "banning encryption" even work in practise?English
7·10 months agoCouldn’t be done something like a reversed book encryption? Something that is plain text and perfectly readable but that you can use to decrypt a message?
Wouldn’t binary transfer in base64 be undescifrable as they could be files in a proprietary format?

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Is there a name for the trope where a story is high fantasy at first glance, except for it's not fantasy and is actually set in a post-apocalypse dystopian future?
51·1 year agoShan ara chronicles has just that and I searched it in tvtropes: https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Series/TheShannaraChronicles#:~:text=The Shannara Chronicles is an American post-apocalyptic fantasy drama television

3·2 years agoKagi
Does it personalise the result based on your tastes, pages you visit and previous searches?
I tried duck duck go but I don’t like how u personal are the results. This last month I switched to bing and it was better. Some years ago I wouldn’t belive that bing could be better than Google.

Steam Hardware@sopuli.xyz•What "Great on Deck" titles have you been enjoying?
4·2 years agoDicey dungeons rogue like like slay the spire but changing cards with dices and abilities. The battery lasts forever in that game.
I’m an introvert too and I feel you, but if you work in an office, part of your work is having conversations, taking cofee with your workmates and such. As you have said, it helps getting help from them and getting favours.
Literally in an office work they pay you to do this bonding that allows you to do your work better. You are expected to take time to do that things. Think about it as if it is some task that you don’t like but is part of your job.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Can videogames trigger a heart attack?
5·2 years agoI had an anomalous cardiogram, he said that some of the current went missing, but is was very little and shouldn’t be worried. Also today I received a blood test with high cholesterol DHL (40 mg/dl) and high fibriogen plasma(4.66 g/L)
I’m asking for an appointment as soon as I get the written report so a doctor can interpret those for me and luckily plan a treatment.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Can videogames trigger a heart attack?
6·2 years agoThank you for putting words for what I didn’t have the strength to answer.
Also I think the question is interesting, independently of why it’s asked. Maybe there was some recorded case.
Also de first doctor I’ve seen said that the affection is minor and nothing to worry but that I should avoid excitement. He told me that in person 3 weeks ago and I bet that I’ll have to wait 2 more before he send me the report in writing to bring it to another doctor which I’m doing. He was the doctor from works anual medical review so his interest is on not making a fuzz of it. Meanwhile the answer could help.

I had to learn that my body is not asking gor food, but for a 15 min nap.
