Yeah, I also know how to play D&D. Big whoop.
I hope it doesn’t happen, but logging doesn’t work exactly like the lorax. They need to ensure a future to the industry, so they’d do chucks and replant. No, it’s not the same as it would have been, but it’s at least less devastating than strip mining the Grand canyon.
We learned Mexican Spanish in my redneck school.
One day I was feeling particularly down, heard an ad on a podcast and I looked into Betterhelp. I don’t know if they do anything outside of the US or not, so I don’t know if this will help you at all, but since it’s on topic, I figured I’d share for curious Americans.
Betterhelp is EXPENSIVE. They said it would cost me something like $80/week, and they wouldn’t take insurance. They offered me a discounted rate of $60/week, but the main cause of my depression that day was financial, so it was an especially painful kick in the face.
I also understand how it feels to have a doctor tell you that your disorder isn’t real. I asked my doctor about it and all he did was lecture me on how ADHD meds are “performance enhancers” and that ANYONE who took them would function better. “Besides, you have a job, you must be doing alright”. (Of course, it was my third job in the past 5 years.)
I don’t know about you, but those kinds of things (telling me I dont know what I’m talking about while not listening to what I’m saying) hit me especially hard. I just wanted a referral to a psychiatrist, but he wouldn’t even bother doing that.
I used to play this game a lot. It has it’s flaws, but we had fun with it and every few months someone will remind me about it, and I’ll dive in for a while, but I think it might be time to finally uninstall for good.
Never heard of a whisper of cats before.
Maybe someone in your family started saying that and that’s where you picked it up.
Max is such a good plump boy!
Oh that’s totally me.
Best way I can describe it is that my mind is the Google homepage. Give it input, and it will spit out everything it knows about that, but by default, it’s just a blank page waiting for a question.
I need triggers to jog my memory. Sticky notes are a lifesaver.
My wife comes up with a menu for the week and buys everything needed to make it.
Once a month, we go to Sam’s club and buy bulk meat which gets portioned and frozen, and other bulk non perishables like coffee, rice, pasta etc.
The weekly trips are about $200-$300 and the monthly trip is about the same.
We have five kids between us.
I don’t know if it’s true or not, but if someone is buying military equipment from an enemy, they already have a giant hole in their defense.
With all the software, GPS, and network capability of modern equipment, there’s no way of knowing what kind of secret backdoors were put into it. Especially if the maker KNEW they were selling it to an enemy. Why not put GPS trackers or a kill switch in that only you can access?
Of course, maybe both parties were allies when the purchase was made, so they weren’t too worried about it, but a lot of those alliances are being tested right now, and I do fear that the US will NOT be supporting the good guys this time around.
That’s awesome! I’m glad that worked out for you! The whole process is so frustrating.
My college highlight was starting a 6 page paper on a book I never read, five hours before it was due. Got a B.
I went from top of the class to “smart, but lacking effort” before I got to high school.
Haven’t really moved on from that phase since.
What’s funny is that I was thinking about that quote immediately after I typed my comment.
Get a dog. They’ll clean it up.
I had to check your profile to figure out what this is all about, and I’m more confused than when I started.
What is your goal with this post? I think you know that the answer is going to be yes, so what’s your point?
Careful there. Going through life with that mindset will prevent you from learning and growing.
Don’t discount any idea until you’ve picked it apart.
Yeah, people are dumb, but if you assume you’re always right, you will be too.
Created by? No. Influenced or inspired by? Absolutely.
Depression cannot create art, but depression (or anger or happiness, or love) will influence your art.
Also, popular and successful doesn’t always mean good. It might just be more relatable, and if the rest of the world is feeling like me, depression is IN right now.
The holding it inward is just an attempt to hide it. Or at least that’s how it started. Maybe some people just learned to do it that way every time.
Anyway, I hold a joint the same as a cigarette.
