Loved Cradle as well which is the only other progression fantasy I think I’ve read.

I really loved this book. Discovered it when he was halfway done then read it all again in preparation for the finale. I’d say the end was good overall but it didn’t quite satisfy me. The middle section was my favorite. Seeing Zorian’s gradual improvement over time, honing his skills, becoming overpowered, all that was excellent.
