Grim Dawn. We’re getting a new expansion sometime, and I’m fucking hyped, but I want to see more of Cairn. I want to see even more regions, I want to see time pass and how this world tries to recover, how far the gods have truly fallen, how far the Witch Gods may go now that things have broken so deeply.
Not only that, but Lemmy gives us a decent amount of control over our own curation, at the user level. We’re from the same instance, but our feeds could be totally opposite each other dependant on who/what we choose to filter/block.
It’s one of my favorite things about this platform, and I feel like .ee’s ethos really works alongside it.

Heroes aren’t always good people. Their reasons are lost to time to the average person, but the message is remembered. The actions supersede the reason.

Adding on to your feeling like they can’t talk being bad, sometimes places like these are the only places someone feels like they have. They’re fairly anonymous, it can be easily deleted, there’s low risk of someone in your personal life finding out.

Yes, it was! In fact, this wasn’t uncommon! Several early PC titles would ask you questions and point you to the page in the manual.
Another one was Code Rings, cardboard discs you had to align words/symbols on to get the code to play the game.
If you lost your manual/ring, or bought a second hand copy without one, you were absolutely fucked on playing your game.
You have activated one of my hyper fixations(people who do hour+ essays on the most useless of shit). If you can handle the occasional 1-3 hours of a monotone voice, Davey is actually a lot of fun.
One of my favorites, his list of war crimes featured in the Pokedex. He’s also done StarCraft stuff(obviously), Balloons Tower Defense, and a few other things. He also doesn’t really post terribly often. It can take months for him to record and edit a project down, and he normally has 2 or more going at once.
Bonus: You’ll get to learn about Bug. Bug is a good boy. We love Bug.
I can’t believe I forgot the Thief games! Absolute classics. I need to get around to replaying them sometime soon.
Opposing Forces is the better of the two, but if you enjoyed the general story/feel of Half-Life, they’re definitely worth at least giving a shot.
Deus Ex and System Shock should definitely be on your list, just skip Deus Ex: Invisible War.
Also, as I don’t see them listed, did you check out Blue Shift and Opposing Forces? They’re 2 Half-Life expansions made by Gearbox, back in the day, that show the events of HL1 from different points of view.
What about the fuse boxes? I see the other fixes, but what about all the goddamn fuse boxes‽

Is Gearbox just ultra-sympathetic to their fans(not calling this a bad thing, I genuinely hope they are) or does getting diagnosed with a terminal illness make you go “Y’know what? Fuck it”.
Cause I feel like when I read “terminally ill fan”, it’s either about when Blizzard gave a fuck about their players, or Borderlands.
They’ve been at it with this for a minute. I think Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate was the first one I really noticed it in when it was pushing a map that showed you all the locations for one collectible.
So they can turn around and sell you the cheats through an online store.
Don’t want to just giving yourself everything, gotta fork over even more if you want that pretty sword, or a collectibles map.
I highly recommend grabbing at least Ashes of Malmouth and Forgotten Gods ASAP, if you find yourself enjoying the base game. Inquistor, Necromancer, and Oathkeeper really add to the build variety, and the expansion content itself is decently hefty and as well written as the base(which is absolutely great, especially for an ARPG. Dig into those lore notes you find!).
