I’ll definitely put it on my list. The story and scale of the Remedy Universe was one of my favorite parts of it. I’d kill to experience something similar
Man. When I was younger I couldn’t get into Star Fox 64 on my 3DS. Maybe I should give it a try again. Is it the kind of thing where the PC Port is the better way to play it or should I play it on original hardware?
Man. I modded BeatSaber on my Quest 2 years ago and it was a blast. I had so many fun songs to play on there
Landscape shots like that are some of my Favorite to do. Control really does a good job with its landscapes
I’ve found that the Crystals in the foundation DLC really helped mix up the combat enough to stab a little more life into it for the DLC. But I do get that. If I didn’t stop like 3 missions away from the end the first time I played I probably would have found it a bit repetitive too
I’m excited. I’m a bit worried I’m seeing this as an addition to the Alan Wake Story but with a free game thrown in. After starting the foundation DLC though I feel a bit reassured that’s not the case
Me and my friend didn’t encounter a single bot which is nice. It was always annoying to have a match ruined by a sniper bot joining
I feel like outside the box gameplay and story is Remedy’s MO. Alan Wake has the Story and Flashlight mechanics, Control has all the Parautilitarian mechanics and the lore with The Oldest house and Director. Even Max Payne as far as i’m aware was unique with the Bullet Time mechanics
I tried the Jukeboxes but just couldn’t really get into them as much as i wanted too. Which is a shame because i love the Quarry and the combat is really satisfying to pull off
I’m disappointed i sat on it this long, especially with Alan Wake being one of my favorite games of all time and knowing the connection this had too it. Initially i dropped it because i struggled with the combat and stepped away thinking it wasn’t for me. I don’t know what it is but stepping back into it, it just clicks for me now and i love it. I finished up the main story today and started on the Foundation DLC today.
The bots were what initially caused me to stop playing years ago. As much as i’d like to get back into it now though, i let the game dominate my life whenever i play regularly. Not to the point where it was a problem, but i can’t afford to sink that much time into it with my current lifestyle.
I run into the same problems. Basically anything besides 2fort there’s a bit of a queue for or just low player count
I’ve been using mine as a Mini PC for almost a year since getting it. It works great. The only issues with it I’ve personally had come with regular issues with Linux itself. The battery is still in great health. I’ve only recently had any sort of problem with it and even then I believe it’s just a reasonable hardware failure more than something caused by using it this way.
I was a bit worried when I first heard about this that it was just going to try and be Little Big Planet again. Which, while I’d love, I’d prefer if this thing tried to be original too.
But seeing this trailer has me a bit reassured with all the mechanics that, last I checked, Little Big Planet didn’t have. Things like the crawling and the climbing.
Thank you! I love seeing people enjoy the texts I attach to it.
For the Steam Deck, I will say as an unsolicited review that in my opinion it was well worth the price. It packs a surprising amount of power for a game console of its size, though I play mostly docked nowadays so people’s mileage from mine will vary.
A lot of modern games are in the playable range for me at native resolution. Playable for me meaning 30 FPS and tolerable levels of FSR grain. Though some games like Silent Hill 2 I make an exception for since it’s really not supposed to be running on Steam Deck and instead will allow it 20-24 FPS (like a cinema)
Happy Holidays! My Steam Deck has an issue where the power button isn’t doing anything. I keep it docked most of the time but Silent Hill 2 will freeze up the system and the system will need reset. I can’t tell if it’s a software issue or hardware issue (I’m leaning towards Hardware). I need to crack it open and figure it out. I’m worried though I’ll need to solder on a new power button though which would be a bit irksome.
It’s my only source of PC gaming right now because I bought it over a gaming desktop years ago due to it being better for my lifestyle at that time (I was/Still am a student who spends a lot of time on campus so portability is nice). Luckily if I can’t fix the power button issue, Alan Wake II inspired me to start planning a full size gaming rig so I can do Fancy Shmancy Raytracing and 4K without FSR
I went ahead and picked up the entire bundle plus origins. I think after Asylum I’ll put it on a brief hold because I’ve been also wanting to really play and finish Control. But after that I want to go back to Arkham and do City and maybe origins all in one chunk
I really enjoy looking at bad games so long as I can grab them dirt cheap. It’s a hobby I have. Even then I saw Suicide Squad for $2.50 and I couldn’t warrant getting it for that much. The game does not look interesting enough to spend 2.50 on for me personally
I might take you up on some of those offers at some point in the future. Right now i’m mainly waiting on the rest of my group to get it installed. The 80gb storage cost is crazy (I even ended up removing it for now just to install Red Dead Redemption 2 to play with another friend since i was waiting), and somehow both the other guys in our party need to upgrade their internal storage before playing.
If you have any tips though I’ll definitely take any you can offer. I think i’m like one of 10 people that use the Steam Notes function so they certainly won’t be forgotten
That’s odd. I picked it up too and it ran out of the box. Have you tried Proton GE? I’m not 100% sure but thats what my default proton profile is irc
