Games@lemmy.world•No Man's Sky: Voyagers update releases today, introduces customizable "colossal, fully furnished, completely bespoke Corvette-class starships"English
295·5 months agoI got 150 hours out of this game and I think that is very much all i will ever play.
For a good while it was even quite interesting because there were still a lot of new things to discover.
But then you started to do things just to get them done not because they were particularly fun or interesting.
If they don’t implement some fundamental new way to play this game or combine existing mechanics better together I don’t think anything could pull me back.
And i hope procedural generation starts to die very soon. Throwing the same basic ingredience into a mixer does not give you something new but more of the same. It’s boring.
Könnte erklären, warum ich die letzten Wochen immer so extrem müde bin.

Privacy@lemmy.ml•What are you going to do when the internet starts asking for ID for everything?
27·6 months agoWe should really start concentrating more on decentralization.
Take Freifunk as example and similar projects.
What we need is a user-run private alternative to the internet. Wireless mesh networks are a very interesting step in that direction.
As long the infrastructure is owned by the government and companies, we will never be really free.
It drowns out the voices in my head so they stopped distracting me with their ramblings.
Better have a single external source I can filter out instead of multiple internal I can"t.

Linux Gaming@lemmy.world•Best way to play GOG games on Mint?English
15·10 months agoI was going to say Lutris since that is what i’m using since forever for GOG Games. It even has it directly integrated nowadays and can be connected to your GOG account to basically one-click install the games you own.

But since everybody else here writes “Heroic”! i guess i have to give that a try now…

LocalLLaMA@sh.itjust.works• How to run LLaMA (and other LLMs) on Android.English
5·1 year agoIt is running natively. In comparison to, for example, emulators that emulate old gaming consoles completely, Termux emulates only an input device, so basically a keyboard and a display, but the actual applications are Linux and run on Androids Linux Kernel natively. There is no emulation or virtualization happening.

Linux Gaming@lemmy.world•NTSYNC driver for improving Windows games on Linux with Wine / Proton should finally land in Linux kernel 6.14English
18·1 year agoJust a minor correction. esync and fsync were in wine 5 years before proton even existed. So they were not implemented into proton, but were already part of it from the start.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Is it wrong to not have a disabled child solely to avoid forcing the child to suffer their whole life?English
221·1 year agoI think the other way around is wrong and immoral. Forcing a child to suffer their whole life is pure evil in my book. If you have the opportunity to prevent this, it is your duty to do so.
Und da ist er wieder…dieser Kotzgeschmack.

Privacy@lemmy.ml•Google’s Fingerprinting Returns In 8 Weeks And It Will Track Your DevicesEnglish
3·1 year agoI would also have a look at the XDA forum. A very large percentage of devices that are not officially supported have unofficial ports (Lineage and others) that run 99% as well as the official ones.
e.g. my old Galaxy S8 was not official supported but one of the staff members of XDA made a port that runs like an absolute dream.
x.com was PayPal before it got renamed and then the donain was unused until the twitter fiasko.

I feel like people lately go a bit overboard when it’s about protecting their “data”.
As far as I see all it does is just send one single number that shows that there is someone using this specific operation system and it does not include any personal or unique to the user information.
In my opinion this does not even qualify as “my data”
