Yubikey, but thats just a personal preference. A password manager works just as well.

15 years Windows -> dualboot everything -> Ubuntu -> Fedora -> Ubuntu -> opensuse -> arch -> popOS -> arch -> fedora -> arch -> -> popOS -> arch -> nixos
I’m sure there’s a ton more hopping around in the middle that I can’t remember, but this is a good summary.
I did look into it around December but saw the index wasn’t playing nice with Linux. I may look back into it, as thats all thats keeping Windows installed at this point.
I typically land 10-15 more FPS on Linux but my setup is unique (custom nix flakes), plus AMD GPU and CPU.
I also saw the same increase in performance on my wifes computer, and shes on a basic Fedora setup. She has AMD and Nvidia combo.
Sadly performance seems to be tied to environment setup. Which is a good way to lockout a good amount of gamers.
I do not run roblox, though I’m sure getting it working wouldn’t be too difficult.
All of my games run better on Linux, only reason for windows now is VR.
My main games are Star Wars Battlefront 2, Star Citizen, Minecraft and Cyberpunk
Hyprland is my favorite tilling manager for Wayland. Its really easy to customize or find dotfiles. I have some if you want them.
If you want something that just works, popos-shell gnome plugin
About 6 months since I’ve switched away from vscode. To make Helix worth it you also need to use software that compliments it.
I work in DevOps, so I don’t do a ton of programming but everything I do is via terminal. I use Kitty Terminal, ZSH with oh-my-zsh for the shell, Zellij for an emulation layer (think tiling and tab manager in kitty), nnn for in terminal file manager, and helix for editor.
I almost never leave the terminal now, except when web browsing.
I agree with this. In my opinion helix is the best code editor.
It’s a mess, but people are playing the new COD and that’s a mess too. Maybe it’s because I’ve only been playing for 8 months, but I find it super enjoyable.
I had those, but it’s rare for me. When I first started I phased into a corsair and decided to do a character reset and have had very little issues since. That and I’ve heard newer hardware helps as well.
For me this is true, I’ve been playing since 3.18 and haven’t had many bugs. Cyberpunk and Halo had more bugs.
I mean what game has been around with active development for 15 years? Most games development stop at 5sh. I paid $45 8 months ago with no reason to spend more.
While 15 years is stupid, at least it’s a fun game. So I’ll continue to enjoy it while not spending anymore money on it.
It seems a lot of people haven’t played it. It’s quite playable and has less bugs than the average new AAA game.
It’s currently got 4 planets, each with 3 or more moons, and many stations that can be visited. 6+ game loops and around 30 flyable ships.
Yeah people spend way too much real money on it, but 90% of the fly read ships are purchasable in the game. At least give the damn game a shot before you shit on it. The community is super nice and willing to help new comers.
Edit: Not sure why everyone is so upset. This is my experience and every argument I’ve seen against sc is about bugs or spending real money on ships. Let people enjoy the games they want without getting so mad cause someone likes a game you don’t.
Fedoras flavor with KDE. Fedora never caused an issue for me.
I use Comic Mono and love it. Code is 100% easier on the eyes and to read.
All add-ons in regular firefox are available. Same with features. I don’t use sync, but I see the feature.
I use Mull. It’s Firefox but removes Firefox trackers and add privacy settings right into the browser.
You can get it via FDroid (I use neostore client) and it gets frequent updates.
That’s not true, I have Google Play Store with my regular gmail account logged in. I have all my usual apps installed without any issue.
Pixel 6 Pro with Graphene OS
Yeah, it runs better in my experience. I want to say, it may be different depending on the hardware just like Windows.
I use prism launcher, it auto installs fabric, forge, etc for you.
