Switches located next to the door are for lighting, as opposed to switches on the socket which mean you can fully turn off your rice cooker without unplugging it. We do sometimes have sockets in the UK with the switch at the door, but they are usually a different shape socket that is designed for a lower current and is only intended to be used for floor lamps.

Butter beans with olives. Cover it in oregano, some garlic, some chilli flakes, and then drizzle a tiny bit of soy sauce and plenty of olive oil over the top.

The research comes from Joshua Pearce’s lab which generally does pretty good work. They tend to focus on “appropriate technology” especially for the developing world, so it makes a lot more sense when you look at it in combination with their other research focusing on low resource environments.
