Guild wars 2 runs great. Was my fear when switching aswell. Even got BlishHud to run. Gotta start it through steam and it should be fine.

Merry Smissmas!

One of the voiceactors has a crazy comedy podcast thats been running for ages called Regular Features.
Can recommend if you like the humor, since one of the devs is a fan of that show and got inspiration from it.

Travellers rest is amazing. Still early acess but has tons of stuff already.
Raketenspringen ist eine der coolsten dinge die ich in spielen je gelernt hab. Auch wenns nur mittelmässig war. Ist leider ne weile her. Müsste ich echt nochmal machen.

I agree that most gamemodes do not play that way, and the classes are more restrictive to be a pure arena shooter.
But playing soldier or scout in gamemodes like Koth and PlayerDestruction scratch that itch enough for me to count.
Fast respawn and itemspawn management, combined with good map knowledge feels like good old quake 3 or UT sometimes.
Then you have dozens of rocketjumping maps in the server browser, which no game i know of has these days.

Team fortress 2 is still going good even if the only updates are from the community in terms of maps.
Guild wars 2! Giant map to explore and alright story in the free to play part.
Even if you pick different backrounds and race you can port to the other starting maps and the story connects everything later on.
It also gets more difficult so dont think it is always easy like in the starter zones.
And it is one of the old school f2ps thats still good without paying if you wanna try it out.
But if you spend money on an expac you keep it and dont have to pay for a savegame like WoW.
One of the rare MMOs that values your time and money.

If you want to scratch a similar itch, and have not already, try Guild Wars 2.
It does have microtransactions, but only because they have no subscription fee and they are mostly cosmetic with a few rare exceptions.
It also has no FOMO except cosmetics from certain festivals, which you can also buy in the next year.
It is still the best MMO on the market IMHO, because it values your time and money compared to other games in the genre.
Guild wars 2 has so much variety i would not know where to start. Would just search it on youtube and find the fitting mood i guess.

That people still pay monthly for save games has always been wild for me.

Guild Wars 2 as well. :)
Try guild wars 2.
You can play without completly downloading it.
Its f2p and you can explore all together, since every starting map gets unlocked no matter what race you pick at the start.
It is also very easy to learn and you can even outlevel each other if anyone wanna keep playing in private, since you get levelcapped depending what map you are in.
Brilliant game design all around and still one of the best multiplayer games out there IMHO.
We have all seen how that worked out with R. kelly. There was a lot of evidence back then aswell, but he had money and fame to keep it under wraps.
Cause that guy is an alleged pedo. Probably better to not have him in a meme anymore when there are also way better alternatives.

Guess im a satanist now… *shrugs
Solange es nicht mit handgranaten schmeisst, ist es glücklicherweise kein reenactement von Animal Squad.

Good meme but pls:
It is my first time dabbling with linux at all so i might just have luck and i had some small problems, that thankfully resolved themselves pretty easy.
I am using CachyOs since my brother in law recommended it and i could ask him when there where any problems. Have an old Nvidia GTX 1080 and have no problems with it yet.
Steam will be installed alongside Discord and Firefox with Cachy so no problem there. I could even test and transfer games through steam, from my older windows drives once they were mounted.
Getting BlishHuD to run was not hard. There is a good guide Here. Only framerate issues i have is with Pathing but i had that with windows aswell.
Installing some modules make it crash but i rarely use any except pathing and EmoteTome so you gotta experiment i guess.
ArcDps works right out of the box and any other game works through steam without a problem. I do not play mayor multiplayer games so i dont miss out on that stuff.
My wife likes to play sims 4 tho so i will have to make EA launcher work later this year when i switch her desktop to linux.
My tip is makin backups and have someone experienced to help if you need it. Also take your time. I did it on my vacation and it was quite fun to dabble tbh.
