I too have a chicken-kicking story. Posting now so’s I’ll remember to write it out later.
It was precisely like a bad, dirty paper cut that stank of fish munge.
Haven’t seen it mentioned here, so a word to the wise: their beaks are somewhere sharp-edged, and if you were to grasp the beak and your hand were to slide lengthwise (towards or away from the tip), you could sustain a nasty cut.

Also colloquially known as “ass radar”
Listen to this guy/girl OP.
Your dentist will almost certainly recommend:
-Getting an electric toothbrush, READING THE INSTRUCTIONS, and using at least twice daily.
-Simultaneously, getting a water-pik or similar (they make travel ones too) and using it twice a day. (Tastier if you fill it with mouthwash).
Or shell out ~$10k or more (in the US) later for ignoring this advice, like I will in April, for gum restoration procedures.
Plus nobody will tell you you have eye-watering bad breath, but they will certainly hold it against you.
Wondering if your vocal control will outlast your other fine motor skills, and therefore have you considered just recording your yourself monologuing anecdotes, impressions, commentary, what have you? I’m reminded of folks’ oft-time lament that they did not record their loved one’s voices in an every day setting and being unable to recall exactly how they sounded after they are gone.
You gotta wade through a lot of bullshit on social media generally, even here in the fediverse which I’m sure we consider to be a cut above. But every once in a while, you strike gold in a post like this. This place is a better place and I am richer for you having posted. I wish you the best of luck here and in the beyond.
I’d posit that piano man is a pompous song by one of the most pompous pricks in pop music, who grows more pompous and self absorbed with every passing moment.
You are not wrong. In fact, it is arguably the most compelling show on TV period.
Ah yes, celebrating the turn o’ the century with cutting edge gameplay on state of the art equipment. The future was bright!
See, this kind of intel is just part of the reason why I shop here! Steam rabbit hole here I come.
Would I be missing out by having not played the first one, or should I just dive right in?
Hard agree that BOTW on switch was, at least at the beginning, a feeling I may never replicate. The scale, the detail, the never ending variety of the landscapes, the wistful post-apocalyptic loneliness, the near-absence of boundaries. I have an embarrassing number of hours logged, multiple playthroughs, the DLC, master mode, etc. I’m afraid nothing else will even come close ever again; to be honest, this was part of my motivation for my original post, because I seek something like it.
TOTK is awesome and a fitting continuation; in fact, is so rich that I have a better appreciation for having some kind of attention deficit disorder, because there is always something beckoning, and it is nearly impossible to stay on track. But ultimately it lacks the grandeur? the completeness of the original.
Great reply.
You are correct. I really want someone to convince me to go out and buy a console and game today but I thank you for your reply and if I come into a game cube, “Phantasy Star Online Episode 1&2” will be at the top of my list! Was the game that special or was it more of a beautiful time-in-the-life kind of impression?
I inherited a PS2 and tore some SSX up, probably 10 years after release. May never get that soundtrack out of my mind.
