Something else, all of the GNU coreutils have their own info [command]
terminal command, and often the info page is incredibly easy to read, full of example pages and highly granular descriptions of flags, error messages, and the like.
I was very satisfied with Bash for a long time until my friend got me using Zsh. I still am not sure i need Zsh over Bash honestly. Command autocomplete is obnoxious
I quit Sync months ago, I’ve been using Voyager and I love it. It actually has better functionality than Sync and somehow it manages to stay within 12 months of being up to date with the rest of the Fediverse.
Frankly LJD burned any good will and I don’t plan on ever returning. Save your money and time and go with a FOSS alternative.
The day I figured out the mouse cheese puzzle was a major milestone of my childhood

Potaties and my gravies and pa-peas…
Fuck yeah Neverhood!
Absolutely agree, the wholeapt-get upgrade
(or however, I always messed it up!) was annoying to me, and I switched to an arch distro (Endeavour) and I’m super happy with it. It’s my only machine and it is awesome
Coulda thrown a couple ls -la
s around and he woulda been golden
“Lunar Genocide” sounds like a novel I’d check out
Endeavour has been an amazing distro for me, noob Linuxer. I started on Ubuntu Cinnamon, then tried Mint, and ended here on Endeavour and I love it.
Hommanommanommanomma na-ee hee, eee hee-ee!
I gotta sic syncthing on one of my old laptops running a crusty out of date Windows version and once it’s all backed up I’m going to install this on it, I’m excited to try it out! I have not personally tried a RHE distro before so it will be interesting to experience.
The Neverhood
Once again proven right that EndeavourOS is the superior downstream Arch distro
No I do not. I didn’t think to make a bug report only because I have seen multiple threads on here of people demonstrating errors and seemingly not being able to get help with the Dev being absent.
I appreciate the word up, I’m on Voyager now and I’m happy with it. I’ve been playing with other clients for other services I’ve been using. Lately I’m getting into Gemblogs and finding nice ways to view and eventually contribute to it myself, so I’ll probably stick to that for my “stripped down text experience”, and keep Lemmy for more visual stuff. Pixelfed has been a great experience to get into, too! The open internet is so much fun to explore. It’s a wonderful time to be a netizen.
I appreciate that and I’ve been using Sync since 2019, it isn’t like I’m brand new to the app or his proclivities. I don’t think this is a good excuse for completely abandoning maintenance and user issues for months on end with zero accountability for it, just because every so often he does a big update.
Before LJD had Sync moved to Lemmy post-API I was using Jerboa and back then it was super buggy and slow because it was a freshly minted app. It’s nice to see how well the FOSS alternatives have been catching up.
I was on EndeavourOS for a couple of years and now I’m just on vanilla Arch with KDE and I also couldn’t imagine just dumping all of my knowledge and problem solving workflow by jumping to a different distro or architecture. I certainly can’t see myself ever using Windows again. It’s very weird to imagine that if I ever wanted a flagship computer I would probably buy an Apple.
