There also exist mental problems like being a dismissive avoidant(DA) attachment that can masquerade as autism, so making sure that it is not something else that can be treated away can be beneficial, you might even be a DA and have autism. So getting the DA treated would most likely help you in every day life

Autism@lemmy.world•What's the relation between Autism and ADHD? Why are both often related?
1·13 days agoI’m fairly sure that is my sister, shes got an ADD diagnosis but she seems to have some lacking understanding of some social cues, which to me indicates that shes more likely autistic than ADD (there are more signs too, but it feels wrong to write them to strangers online)

1·13 days agoYeah, we haven’t figured out good diagnostic boundaries that properly delineate what is what yet. I do suspect some of it comes from ADHD not being focused on social cues versus autism not perceiving them correctly, the result becomes the same behavior/thoughts, but the cause for them is different.
Its posted in a humor sub soooo no

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Will US have any consequences for its actions ever?
71·17 days agoIn the relative short term, the answer is no. The US is too powerful relative to everyone else, this will likely not change until the EU becomes more of an equal than it currently is. This might not be the direct causal reason for the consequences, the US will face, but the time it will take for the consequences to manifest themselves are just that long, unfortunately.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What are some examples where the more you know about the world, the better it seems?
7·1 month agoAll of the different avenues of gene editing tech that helps with previously incurable diseases, Huntington’s disease being one of several with promising results

Honestly, I don’t see much issue with that, the amount of people with some unhealthy parasocial attachment to celebrities kind of makes it a good idea to limit the userbase
