Cons: “No one around me is dying and we’re all fine. I went to the hospital and it’s empty. What’s the big deal???” Everyone with half a brain: “You’re talking about anecdotes. What matters is the data and it’s damning. Lots of people are dying.” Edit: To clarify, I mean that this applies to the economy as a whole. Not that everyone does well when the market does.

My lived experience is racism is dead because I’m not racist and neither are friends. Sexual assault doesn’t happen because I’ve never sexually assaulted anyone and only one person I know has been sexually assaulted. The economy is doing great because my company handed out $10k bonuses to all employees this year along with a 5% raise. Which lived experience should we believe?
