He wrote columns for a far-right website, was a Reagan “fan”, wanted to ban same-sex marriage, disliked criticism of Jehovah’s Witnesses’ practices and shaved it off as “but but look at black people!”, was a conspiracy nut on Obama’s citizenship, spread “intelligent design” desinformation, supported Israel and Netanyahu the Genocider, and signed a weapon deal with Glock when school shootings happened recently. Oh and not that it matters imo, but he cheated on his wife.
Seriously, I grew up with Chuck Norris jokes but only looked up who that was when I was around 15. Then I knew he was an actor who played in movies I’ve never seen (and still haven’t seen).
Personally, I don’t think it’s wrong to joke about the larger-than-life figure he’s become. At least in my small bubble of people that’s all he is. The jokes could just as well revolve around John Doe, only then they wouldn’t work.

Basically, he was an asshat.
And yet the jokes are funny.

To be fair, I liked the jokes too. I found it rather sad that he decided to spend his life backing heinous movements instead.
