Written about there specifically because he was the last gasp of that style of spectacular murder, to the point the executioners kind of didn’t have a ton of practice. It… Fuck it; just read the book; it’s a good one. For bonus points pair with ‘seeing like a state’
Edit: some theory is badly writren and a labor to read, no matter how beautiful the ideas are. Foucault, no matter what you think about his ideas, is a skilled and engaging writer.
