Even if it’s more expensive, I will probably go with JMP because it’s open source and open source to me is a hill I am willing to die on. I do absolutely everything I possibly can to use only open source software at any time that it is feasibly possible to do so.
I have been thinking about going with JMP chat and if I do that’s probably what I would do just port my current number to them so that I don’t lose it since that’s my primary number and I don’t really want to deal with getting a new one and giving it out to everybody.
Depends on country. In the United States, you might look at something like the T-Mobile Connect prepaid plan and the Nokia 225 4G. And yes, prepaid numbers absolutely do work for app registrations. I’ve been on prepaid for years and had no issues. It’s voice over IP numbers that have problems.
If you have to switch, give Thunder a try. It is a very well put together app. And I enjoy it, and you might as well.
Two things either don’t use their service or you could get your own domain and then set up a catch-all so that you can create as many aliases as you want with your own domain. So like kroger@example.com, walmart@example.com, etc.
That’s true. I just don’t know of a lot of mainstream things that have deployed it quite yet. Like I do not think HTTPS is post quantum secure, or at least not that I’m aware of.

I use Proton and it has this bridge application where it connects to the Proton servers and then serves your mail to Thunderbird or whatever locally. So that might work for you, but I’m not sure.
Quantum computers could feasibly do it. However, even Google’s project willow at 105 qubits is not enough. Because if it were, we would have much bigger problems like, oh, I don’t know, the encryption that protects your bank account and HTTPS connections.

Why are you surprised? There are terms of service specifically says no illegal products and they have administrators to pull down any illegal listings they do find and they don’t take any kind of fees from transactions. It’s either direct payment where the two transacting parties are the only ones that ever touch the funds or the escrow has a mediator but they do not control the mediator and anyone can put up an offer to be a mediator. I dont see how they are any different from eBay or Etsy.
I use gift card services for my phone bill and groceries and I keep a close eye on what’s available on XMRBazaar.com and occasionally request items.
I think it depends on where you live because I buy my groceries and pay my phone bill with Monero but you’re right the local store doesn’t obviously accept it directly
