i might do that too, but turning them on and off constantly would be such a bother. Also it would be annoying to forget microphone when someone calls or you call to someone. I wish i could just install grapheneos or something, but fairphone doesnt seem to be supported for it and at this point i wouldnt want to risk losing my data if something breaks.

unfortunately tracker control cant be on while rethink is on or vice versa. I have also noticed that you shouldnt trust the system to block anything. Even if you forbid datausage for something, its not trruly blocked. Also google cant be blocked by system at all, but rethink can do that too, though then you need to manage the settings every time you want to use google’s services but it doesnt seem to cause any awful problems in general. That program is one of the best things i have found for a while.

Though now i dont feel comfortable giving it so much control over my phone. Though since code is open source I hope someone has looked it through. I tried taking a look myself but i wouldnt know what to look for.

It also seems to be also unmaintained or it just doesnt need updates, as last change to github was 4 years ago. Too bad there doesnt seem to be almost any other programs like that, only other i found was something called safe-dot which is equally old. Based on issues listed in github page it might not work 100% reliably. It seemed to work when i tested it, but according to the issues it might not work if system itself is using something which kind of defeats the purpose.

I also noticed that for some reason it didnt appear on rethink’s application list so i couldnt see what it was doing with network. According to system it used 8kb worth data in backround even though it doesnt seem to have anything that should require internet, unless pushnotifications do that, but still that seemed a bit odd for program that shouldnt use internet.

yea, i wouldnt trust any computer that has had that shit installed. The core will likely be compromised and if there is going to be bigger cyberwar at some point, those computers could be used as bots. Though same can be potentially said about any anti-cheat with kernel level access. I probably shouldnt trust even my own computer since I have tarkov installed. I hope it doesnt go there, it would be such bother to actively consider that as a thing, but it should be kept in mind as possibility.

I have also played with the thought, though it might just give them ideas as patents don’t last forever and probably don’t even protect non-corporations that well if some big company decides it wants what you have.

If you give ai instruction to do something “no matter what” or tell it “nothing else matters” then it will damn try to fulfill what you told it to do no matter what and will try to find ways to do it. You need to be specific about what you want it to do or not do.

I wonder if giving the information to the coporations competitor (as anonymously as possible of course) would do anything good? Try to turn the corps against eachother. At least you would know if they are secretly in league if the competitor doesnt expose them.

Also, i think anyone who is in position to do something like this should try to find more like minded people and continue as a group. Even then its dangerous but much less so than alone since there are more people to help. You wouldnt resist enemy occupation alone and expect to live long either.

Imo, what your aunt is doing is okay as long as she doesnt start hoarding more and more houses and acts fairly. There is some value in not having to deal with problems that come with owning apartment but uncertainty of the world burns that value away easily. As landlord you have a duty to take care of your tenants and if you cant do that then you shouldnt be allowed to own property like that.

it allows them to have it both ways. if they lose they can claim fraud and cause problems, possibly whip people into sedition. Should they do the fraud then their own previous lies make your accusations lesser since they have “saturated” the concept and everyone is sick of hearing of it.
