Win 10 pro never forced me but i did power cycle pretty often anyways. It did still give me bs full screen ads for win 11 though sometimes. Now im on Bazzite with minimal disruption and even some improvements to my workflow :)

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Outside of politics, have you ever had a position on something that you have doubled down on and refused to move an inch on to the point of upsetting someone? Were you right?English
2·2 months agoThis is correct. I used to live in southern US and could not find any place that served even something similar to poutine much less actual poutine with cheese curds. Youd think they would be more into that stuff its got fried stuff, gravy and whatnot

Linux@lemmy.ml•Those who've switched to Linux in the last year, how is it going?English
1·2 months agoI switches to Pop!OS on my laptop that I didt use so much until now and its been solid and reliable for 99% of everything ive needed to do. Later switched my desktop to Bazzite and its been a wonderful experience. I did have a little bit of stuttering on beefier games but I mostly play middle graphics games and those were a non issue. Maybe 1-2 games I have wont run? Intel and nvidia is probably more of the reason.
I havent even looked back at windows at this point
I had a similar issue with an Ender 3, it wouldnt adhere no matter what. My solution was to level the bed real close to the nozzle using thinner paper or whatnot. From there you can start tweaking your first layer height

The joysticks on the steam deck are touch sensitive and can bet set as the gyro aim activation you can also set it to be a combination of that + another button so aim down sight and finger on aim joy could activate it if you want or some other combination. Its slick as shit

Linux@lemmy.ml•Facing problems using Bazzite for software developmentEnglish
1·4 months agoYou probably are having issues due to it being immutable. Its not impossible to get around but in your circumstance you might not want an immutable distro. Firstly the is Bazzite DX which is the development centric version of Bazzite. Id use that if you do development firstly and gaming secondly. Also look into the docs about installing non flatpak software, if you MUST install non flatpak software: https://docs.bazzite.gg/Installing_and_Managing_Software/

Uplifting News@lemmy.world•Lab-grown leather from a living cow could change the fashion industryEnglish
3·5 months agoYou talking about the stem cells or cell lines? If so thats not true from what I read: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cultured_meat
“Cell lines can be collected from a primary source, i.e., through a biopsy on an animal under local anesthesia. They could also be established from secondary sources such as cryopreserved cultures (cultures frozen after previous research)”
And even if it were, it would at the very least reduce the amount of cow killing necessary as you get more meat per cow since meat can be grown. I also dont know how many times stem cells can be reused but they are often reused as indicated in the above quote.

5·5 months agoLab grown meat is sort of a thing too. Its a good opportunity to cut down on natural meat production though i assume there are many other things used from a body that will still needed but maybe can be made effectively synthetically

9·5 months agoAbsolutely. I switched to Bazzite and it is everything I wanted from the switch. So painless. I have yet to find a game I want to play that wont play. Ive been using it for all my normal computer tasks. Its been the best transition to linux I’ve experienced as ive tried in the past but always hit some sort of snag
A lot of those that were toxic on reddit are coming and being toxic here as well. I also just think that its real easy to be shitty on the internet

Im in the AI is a tool camp but right now AI is a tool that still needs massive improvement before it can be reliably used. Thats all a lot of the AI hate comes from. People are using such an underdeveloped tool to work on projects and barely testing them. When a problem happens the best case is a minor glitch or it just breaks the software. Worst case you create latent security vulnerabilities
